Tired of women being archetypes before we’re allowed to be people

I’ve been really sick these past few days and honestly haven’t been able to do anything, neither for the channel nor even memes, sorry about that.

Still, I’ve been thinking about more stories I’d like to write, since writing is one of my favorite hobbies. And something I’ve been thinking about a lot is the lack of genuinely monstrous women in fiction.
It really bothers me that female characters are so rarely allowed to be monsters simply because they are monsters.

There always has to be some explanation like she lost her children (La Llorona, for example), lost her family, and so on. It bothers me that these characters are daughters, mothers, wives first, but almost never people, individuals. Or even if they are "monsters" or bad people, they are still hot, and beautfiful 💀

I want to see more of women who are grotesque because the monster they turn into is grotesque, not because they’re frustrated that they can’t become mothers or because they lost their children.

I’m planning to write something along those lines, a woman who turns into an actual monster. I’m not even necessarily planning to make her GNC, really (because honestly I barely see this even with gender conforming women, or at least I haven’t come across much of it). Though one character is definitely going to be GNC and I already know which one lmao

But yeah, more than anything, this is just a rant about how much it annoys me that women are always the mothers/hot girls in those type of stories (or almost any story at this point)

Do you guys shave or not?

Personally, there are days when I don’t shave my face, and yeah, it looks like the kind of facial hair a teenager gets during puberty. But I usually do shave because I don’t like how it looks on me.

I’m curious: do you shave any part of your body (legs, face, etc.)? Do you feel like shaving/not shaving affects your gender nonconformity or actually not?

Or even maybe you’d actually like to let your body hair grow, but you’re worried about being criticized? Or vice versa, do you wish you didn’t grow any body hair at all?

Discord suggestions? 👀

I’m currently working on a Discord server and before I finish setting everything up, I wanted to ask you guys:

Is there anything you’d specifically like to see in the server?

Channels, activities, events, features, anything you think would make the community more fun or useful.

I can’t promise I’ll add everything, but I’d love to hear your ideas

Something kinda funny

One of these days in college, I had a gum wrapper in my hand and wanted to throw it in the trash. The trash can was next to the entrance to the men's bathroom and a man was standing there. I walked up to the trash can, but he moved aside to let me in. I tried not to laugh, but I just threw the wrapper away and left

This also reminds me of the times I walked into the ladies' bathroom and some women had to look at me twice before going back to what they were doing. Like, man, I really don't think I look really andro yet, but okay lmao

Silly things that make me uncomfortable as a GNC

  • Bending over – I don't know why, but bending over just makes me feel uncomfortable. Like I'm showing my ass or something lmao idk
  • My chest – Yeah, I think this is a pretty common one. Mine isn't even that big but there was a point where I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror
  • My voice – I've said before that I have a deep voice, but when I get really excited, it suddenly becomes really high pitched. It can be funny, but sometimes it genuinely makes me feel uncomfortable
  • Makeup – I know there are ways to use makeup to look more masc and for all kinds of other things but sometimes I can't help feeling "less GNC" when I wear it
  • Being grabbed by the waist – Idk why, I just don't like it

These things don't happen as often anymore but they definitely used to. I'm sure there are other things I have or had but I just can't remember them right now.

Has anyone else experienced this, or still does?

I need women to cross wind, sea and land to return to their beloved

What I said in the tittle 😌

I haven’t seen The Odyssey movie yet, but I did study the story in school and damn I wish there were epic tales about women fighting gods just to make it back to the man they love without everyone calling them a pick me or saying "Girl, love yourself"

Bro, let me embark on an odyssey for a twink, silence

Do people assume you’re inexperienced because of your gender identity / expresion?

Lately I’ve been working on some projects around the house, just simple DIY/construction stuff (yeah, that’s why I haven’t been posting as often ✋😔 guilty) and I’ve noticed something: the way some men overexplain things to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I genuinely don’t know the technical names for a lot of tools. For example, in Spanish we call a drill bit a broca and I accidentally called it brocha which actually means paintbrush lmao

Anyway, I’m the one who assembles furniture, TV wall mounts and all that at home. The one changing light bulbs and washing the car 🚗. So I have the basics down, even if I’m far from an expert.

So, the other day I realized I needed a much more powerful drill than the one I own, so I asked a relative if I could borrow one. He lent me a slightly better drill. The funny part is that he knows I already own a drill. He knows I’ve done this kind of work before. Yet while handing it to me, he started explaining every single part of the drill as if I’d never seen or used one in my life.

Usually, in situations like that, I don’t interrupt with, “I already know that,” cuz like I said, I’m not great with technical terminology. But I watch tutorials, read manuals and figure things out. But the way he was talking to me was very much: “See this? This is used for this. If you turn it this way, it spins to the left" 😭

And it’s not just manual labor. At least there you could argue they’re concerned about my safety. But it doesn’t stop there. My male friends do the exact same thing with computers, engineering or even something as basic as video games. Sure, sometimes you actually learn something new, but other times it’s a game I’ve already beaten three times and they’ll still tell me: "If you do this quest, you get this item…”

Is there a name for this? 🤔 Is this... mansplaining? 👁️👄👁️

Obviously, not everyone is like this, but I’m curious: has anyone else had a similar experience?

Like, youre doing something that’s more commonly associated with the opposite gender, have you ever felt like people underestimated you or treated you as if you had no idea what you were doing, even though it’s something you’ve been doing for quite long time?

The “strong one" but never enough

Lately I’ve been thinking about something I havent been able to put into words. It’s rarely easy for me to just be myself around the people in my life. There’s almost always a comment like:

“You’d look better with longer hair"

“You just need to dress up a little"

“You should wear a dress"

At the same time, I often feel like people expect me to be “the strong one”, the one who protects others, the dependable one, the one who do the hard work, the one who carries things that are traditionally seen as masculine.

But then there’s this strange contradiction: even when I’m expected to fill that role, it can still feel like I’m never quite enough as if, in the end, someone thinks a man would simply do it better, kinda it feels like I’m running a race I can’t win.

I don’t know if this feeling comes from being GNC, from the environment I’m in or from something else entirely. Maybe it’s a mix of all of it.

I just know that sometimes I end up feeling like I’m somewhere in between, criticized when I express who I am, yet still expected to meet expectations that don’t fully fit me either

Has anyone else ever felt something similar?
