TW: Loss

I can’t believe I’m making this post. After a long road with infertility and IVF, we were over the moon to graduate from our clinic with perfect ultrasounds at 8 weeks. Baby girl was dancing all around last week at 9 weeks with a soaring heart rate. We had less than a 1% chance of miscarriage due to knowing we had a euploid embryo.

I went in for my NIPT test this week at 10w, the first ultrasound without my husband there as he is out of the country for work this week. This was the first appointment where I wasn’t holding my breath with anxiety, I was just excited to finally hear the heartbeat. As soon as I saw the screen, I knew we were done. Our girl wasn’t moving and no cardiac activity was detected.

We’re opting to wait and have a D&C when my husband gets home, and I’m praying I don’t start miscarrying at home before then. I hope everyone has the most uneventful remainder of their pregnancies and beautiful March babies. 💛 We aren’t giving up, but man this journey isn’t for the weak.

TW: MMC

After perfect doubling betas and ultrasounds, I went in for my NIPT blood draw with my OB yesterday at 10w3d. I knew as soon as I saw baby on the screen that something was wrong; she had no movement and no heartbeat detected. This was my first appointment without my husband, who is currently out of the country. Confirmed MMC, and we’ve decided to have a D&C next week when he returns.

I’m obviously heartbroken. We had a perfect ultrasound at 9w2d, heart rate was 176 and growth was right on track. She was a euploid embryo. I have unexplained fertility.

Since the start, I’ve felt dismissed when asking about further testing to identify an explanation, and I have wondered about endo or adeno. I feel like my RE at a popular nationwide clinic hasn’t been telling me everything they’re seeing. Example: my doctor said at our pre-transfer consult that I “may” have some signs of adeno from my saline sono/hsg, but not worth pursuing because I have several other euploids. I also found out at my first OB ultrasound that I have several small SCHs and a 2.5 cm fibroid. None of this was brought up by my clinic, even when I had several instances of bright red spotting.

I think I’m looking for wisdom from those who have been here. How do I move forward after a seemingly smooth experience? I was just starting to feel less anxious when this happened. I want to be sure to advocate for myself moving forward. Thanks for any help you can give. 💛

Beta test is 11dpt, and I hope to stop testing then! After two years of trying, one chemical, three failed IUIs, and IVF, I have zero chill. But I think we’re progressing nicely!

Sign from the universe.. or something

I had to share this here, because if anyone understands, it’s you guys. I’m three days past my first FET of this beauty, and have officially commenced my TWW spiraling. Cracked two eggs out of a fresh carton this morning (post-crash out) and met this little surprise. It has to be a good sign, right?! ✨
