not a university student here but i love college radio… i had a ton of favorites back home in atl, would love to hear what’s happening here! tell me your favorite stations? are there any??
edit: thank you all for these wonderful suggestions, i’m going to have so much fun tuning in! :-)
i have finally finished DH and i’m just so shocked and blown away by how much i have loved this show!
it took me a little over a month (usually if i watch tv i just pick one thing and watch lol)
soo here are my thoughts:
• best housewife on the lane: bree van de kamp. the true definition of a ride or die. when she was introduced i had no idea if i would like her, but her character development has to be one of my favorites on tv! i love that she stands on her beliefs, but accepts when she’s wrong & makes amends when she needs to.
• my favorite couple on the lane: carlos & gaby. they were a match made in heaven. both selfish in their own respects, but even through infidelity and scandal they stood by each other. gaby really held down the solis house when she was required to step up. that was her most redeeming moment.
• lee was my favorite addition to the lane & i wish he had way more screen time!!!! the halloween party at renee’s will forever live on in my head.
• orson helped bree grow, but i wish that she and karl would have ended up together! i think karl would have been a good husband to bree
• maturing is realizing that tom was not the perfect husband he presented himself to be, but i’m glad they found common ground, grew, and stuck with their marriage. cus they were both pissing me off throughout the series
i’m sure i will have more thoughts on this, but i just finished the show like 20 minutes ago lol!
anyway, time to find something else to watch!
also i must thank this subreddit for having such active members! no one i know IRL has watched the show or hasn’t in years so its hard to talk to ppl about it!
I'm having trouble expressing this into words, so if anyone knows what it is I'm talking about please let me know. I'm noticing a trend with recent film/TV where all the shots are extra focused on the subjects in the scene and completely blurring out the backdrop. It makes it totally unbearable to watch because I can't fully get into the setting.. I just keep thinking about how fake it looks. I'm also consistently disappointed by the lack of color in new tv. It just feels like I'm watching never ending commercials.
I'm using the new Malcom in The Middle for reference because I watched it today and this was the reason why I didn't bother to go past ep1
Why does the background need to be blurred in this scene? Feels unnatural.
Another where they do not need to blur everything.
This is from the original lol
Hal is clearly still the focus of the shot, but they didn't have to totally blur out the backdrop. It looks natural..
Anyway, I really didn't know where else to rant this to and the people in my life think I'm crazy for this.. but am I wrong? I've seen so many films and shows recently that are using this same editing style.
