Threatened with violence and kicked out of Moda for standing.
Reluctant to post this as I am still shook up by it. Hoping to get some positive feedback and/or support.
I bought tickets for this show the day they went on sale. Scored row C, three rows off the floor, aisle seats. A few songs into Tyler's set and I stood up. Within a few minutes people behind me are telling me to sit down and tapping me on the shoulder. I said no. They kept harassing me so I told them to stop talking to me and leave me alone. They reported me to Moda staff. Staff show up and wanna talk to me out in the corridor. As I am walking out the husband/boyfriend of the women who was harassing me threatened to kick my ass.
As I am talking to staff in the corridor another couple who witnessed this show up to explain that I had done nothing besides stand up. Staff decides to relocate me. Four or five security personnel escorted me to my new seats. Same thing happens. Again a woman starts harassing me for standing and again her boyfriend/husband threatened to kick my ass as I am leaving my seats with Moda staff. Staff decides to eject me from the venue. As soon as I tried to state my case and explain how this isn't fair multiple staff members put their hands on me and start leading me towards the door.
I want to extend a big time THANK YOU to the couple who came to my defense. I'm so glad you were there. I've been to 100's of concerts, including Childers in Seattle the night before, and have never once been kicked out of a show. I also can't remember a single time as an adult where there was even a small possibility of a physical altercation. I'm still in shock. Literally the night before in Seattle was one of the best concert experiences of my life followed up by the worst concert experience I've ever had. For a number of reasons Moda is a terrible concert venue and you can be sure I'll never be there again. Unimaginable that staff felt justified in putting their hands on me. I'm glad I kept it together cause, holy shit, that could have escalated fast. Mostly I'm just super disappointed that I didn't get to see one of my favorite artists and paid $165 just to be harassed and booted out mid way through the show.
Oh, and, shout-out to Wednesday for saying FUCK ICE and FREE PALESTINE! The bootlicking wanna-be outlaws in my section didn't appreciate it, but I sure as hell did.
