I conquered my fears this evening and read my poetry! I did it!!! I also sang a couple of weeks ago- which was suuuuper daunting too! I did it!!! :D

I was super nervous- I was shaking, but I read my poems and got 2 rounds of applause! :D I shared my experiences in a creative and cathartic way thanks to a free, welcoming and inclusive space. I got loads of compliments, and I am so proud of myself! I feel empowered that I shared my vulnerability about my loneliness and struggles. I CONQUERED MY FEARS, Y'ALL!!!

Wanted to share; I would really like to recieve some positive and kind energy my way please. Don't have any family or friends, so reaching out. Hopefully loneliness becomes less of a stigma one day. Thank you :)

Oh and I saaaang last time- it's official! I am a singer and a poet, there I said it! And I claim it! Yaaay! :D

Going to read my poetry about loneliness at an event, need encouragement

Hi,

I'm laying in bed, can't sleep and the prospect of reading out my poetry is becoming all the more daunting to me. It's all I am thinking of right now.

Will probably be super tired then (at the event) too which isn't great- it makes makes me worry I will screw this up along with the nerves.

I would love some kind encouragement and some positive vibes sent my way. Hopefully I don't get too scared. I don't have any friends or family, so reaching out to the community for support.

Thanks! :)

[A Sunny Place For Shady People]- [Mariana Enriquez]

I am enjoying this read, and wanted to share. Been having a bit of a reading slump the last months, got back into again (yaaay!). Thought I'd start with a book of short stories and its been a fun and successful way to jump start my reading again! No spoilers please on the book.

Wanted to share, but also wanted any recommendations on contemporary lit-fic short stories books. Would love to get some recs and a general convo is nice too :). Thanks!
