Is forced cuddles when my cat gets destructive bad?

As most cats do, mine gets the zoomies but sometimes he can get a little destructive or will run across me while I am sleeping. He mostly does this when I haven't played with him enough (I work 12 hr shifts, it gets difficult sometimes) and I always make sure to play with him more when hes been doing this, but I've found one of the most helpful things I can do in the moment is grab him and put him in a position that doesnt squeeze him but that he also cant escape from and just pet him until the zoomies energy wears off. He usually tries to make and escape a few times at first but accepts it and starts purring when he chills out and then I let him go. I just want to make sure that I'm not doing anything wrong by kinda trapping him like that because I know sometimes when cats get anxious they purr to comfort themselves.

Green stain seeping through paint?

Painting a new apartment and I have this and one other very similar spot in another corner that immediately seeps through when I paint over it. It almost looks like an ink. There are a few kids drawings on the back of one of the closet doors in a similar colored marker that I haven't gotten to painting yet, could that be it? I'm hoping its not mold since it is immediately coming through and I would expect mold would take at the very least a few hours?

Sewing a stretchy seam on a straught stitch only machine

Hi, I am new to sewing and only own a straight stitch machine. I want to sew my own boxers but I need the hemming on the leg holes (and probably the top near the elastic) to be stretchy. I know most stretchy thread causes issues, but is there any that might work for me? I know its not the best option, I'm just looking for somthing that works right now while I am learning. I plan on getting a real machine when I have the money.
