After updating to iPadOS 26.5.2, my iPad stutters on high speed animations like those in Video games.
What can I disable to make my games smooth? There used to be a link in YT on settings to turn On or Off to speed up a device in iOS or iPadOS 26.+. I can't find it!
I rode for an errand this morning thinking that it'd be okay. But it was so windy that it was tough on my ride.
I had to keep leaning to the left to fight the wind gust hitting my bike (and me) on the left!

Solved: The DNS acquired by the HAOS was in fact a DNS setting in the LAB Router which was unreachable! Fixed it by giving it the 1.1.1.1.

Production Home Assistant hardware: RPi 5 8GB with a 500 M.2 SSD in a USB 3.2 M.2 NVME enclosure. This setup has been running 24x7 for more than three years now without any issue.
I have a duplicate hardware to serve as a backup in case the production rpi5/HA fails for some reason.
Anyway, I pulled the backup hardware from the IT storage and tried to install HAOS 18.0. Using the Raspberry Pi Imager on my Windows 11 PC, I downloaded the HAOS 18.0 image into the SSD drive. Set up the backup RPi 5 in the lab environment (in a separate LAN with a sperate Internet connection from the production rpi5/HA). Booted the rpi5 with the SSD. With my laptop on the lab LAN, I opened my browser to http://homeassistant:8123 and it has been sitting on "Preparing Home Assistant" for more than 2 hours!!!!
Edit: I stopped it (shut it down) after two hours!
Is the HA distribution download site down at the moment???
Could it be a problem with the HAOS image from the Raspberry Pi image repository?
Note that I have done this exercise before when I upgraded from RPi4 to RPi5 three hears ago. The install of HA on the RPi5 + the restore of the backup from RPi4 was fairly easy. The RPi5 then was up and running within one hour.
Yeah! Why do we have to always set our preferred drive mode (me, its "My Drive"), and, why do we have to always have to set our preferred regenerative braking level (me, L1), at every start up???

Yes, it's 94F outside and I had to dial my A/C to 76F because it is too cold. My previous 2023 X-Pro Prestige (ICE), I had to set it to 70F to be comfortable.

What's wrong with the Navigation Updater software? Whenever I login to it with my KIA Owner login, it displays an error saying there is no registered vehicle found with my credential! However, when I click on the X to dismiss it, it brings the default vehicle model for downloading any update, if available!
Then, the next time I logged in, I clicked on the "Register Now", it opens up a web browser page to owners.kia.com login, which I have no problem loging in to bring up my 2026 SXP HEV vehicle dashboard!
Has anyone encountering the same issue?
Has anyone updated to this version? I downloaded it but I haven't installed it yet. It's about 46GB.
Edit: I dared and tried to install the update but it does not initiate the install process. When I press on the "Update using lUSB", with the USB-C flash drive plugged in to the data USB-C port, it does not do anything!!!!
Yesterday when I opened Netflix on my Apple TV in the living room, it asked me to update my “household”. I did and completed the re-registration of my Apple TV. BTW the other day, I was watching Netflix on this Apple TV with no issues. Two hours later after I re-registered the Apple TV, my wife was yelling help for the FireTV in our bedroom because Netflix is asking to update the household. Today, when I was in my Home Office, I opened Netflix on the Fire TV Stick and it asked me to update my household. I did update it. At the same time, my wife was yelling for help because while she was watching Netflix in our bedroom FireTV it suddenly asked to update the household! So at that point, my household has the Apple TV and the Fire TV Stick in the office! Netflix is now restricting the number of device in the “household” to two fu**ing devices?

Hello! I have been so confused on my Weather Chart Card because at one time it is able to show the animated icons from this folder in HAOS: "/config/www/weather-icons/animated". Recently, the animated icons are not showing anymore.
First off - I have an old iPad which I use as a Weather dashboard on our Kitchen wall. I have blocked this iPad from going out to the Internet and being accessed directly from the Internet. So, I downloaded the animated icons (I forgot where) and saved them in /config/www/weather-icons/animated. Here's a snippet of my Raw yaml code for the Weather Chart Card dashboard:

Do I need to adjust the URL for the icons: line???? This used to work before on the same iPad which has no Internet access. Of course, the animated icons work on other devices which have full access to the Internet! It seems that the "icons: /local/www/weather-icons/animated/" does not translate to the physical folder "/config/www/weather-icons/animated"!

Hello! I bought the Puig Avant Handguard for my 2020 Z650 from Revzilla and it arrived today. Well, my problem is I can't remove the slider from the bar ends. The Hex wrench just turns and turns and doesn't seem to loosen up the bolt that holds the bar end sliders!
What's the trick in removing this bar end bolt?

Update: I was able to remove the bar ends with an impact driver/gun. However, my 2020 Z650 bar end has a notch that must be mated with the item that is to be installed on there! The bar end slider that I have has the mating notch so it fits perfectly. The Puig Avant Handguard that I bought, which supposed to fit my 2020 Z650, has nothing! With nothing, it tends to rotate out of alignment! I did not proceed with the install and I will return it. I don't recommend this product for your Z650.
I have TP-Link devices which are locally managed by HA. I rarely use the Kasa app on my mobile device. This morning, I moved one smart plug mini to the IoT subnet and I was presented with an update to firmware 1.1.1 Build 250908 Rel.112508. I took the update and later this afternoon, after turning on the "Third-Party Compatibility" in the Kasa app, was able to re-add to HA.
Now, I look at the "Firmware Update" in the Kasa app and there are 12 smart plugs that need to be updated to ver 1.1.1 and 6 smart bulbs (KL125) that need to be updated to ver 1.0.6.
Does anyone here use Kasa? If so, have you updated the firmware? Thanks.
Edit: Thanks to all who responded to this post. I took one plug and did the soft reset and kept the device configuration and re-joined it to my IoT subnet. At the end of saving all the config settings, it offered a firmware update and I updated it. The update went well and HA still has full control of it.
I have the TP-Link Integration for my Kasa smart plugs, wall switches, and bulbs. I did a soft reset on one smart plug mini to switch to the IoT WiFi SSID. When I tried to add it to the TP-Link integration, it asks for TP-Link authentication! I remembered when I reset it, it prompt for firmware update and I updated! Did the firmware update trigger the authentication in HA?
Note that when I added these Kasa devices in HA a long time ago, HA asked for just the Host IP Address and they all integrate LOCALLY!
Does this mean that this plug that I'm trying to add is garbage because I don't want to have it connect to the cloud!
I gassed up full tank yesterday. I took a picture of the Trip Miles, which was my first recorded high mileage of 428.7 miles. Full tank was 11.513 gallons therefore actual calculated mpg is 37.236. I have always observed that the Avg MPG shown by the computer is always 4 mpg more than the actual mpg at the gas pump (miles/gallons).
In that 428.7 miles was mostly local and a little highway. I always use the paddle to force the re-generative braking especially coming to a stop light, I tap it to level 3 then tap down to level 1 and applying the brake just before hitting the car in front of me.

Edit: I forgot to mention that it was also my first expensive full tank ever - at $50.65. That's at Costco!!!!!
Last Wednesday at the restaurant parking lot when I started the car, it displayed a notification that the car has been successfully updated! It displayed a QR Code link to What’s new! I dismissed because I wanted to go straight home. Here’s a picture of the current software.
The day after I updated the firmware of my 2-tuner legacy Tablo: when I opened Tablo App on my Apple TV, it displayed "Optimizing Guide Data". I let it do whatever it was doing but after 2 minutes then 6 minutes then 2 hours, it was still on that screen! I let it do what ever it was doing overnight but the following day when I woke up, it was still on that optimizing screen! Unbelievable! So to my f***ing frustration, I turn off the smart plug that the tablo is connected to and turned it on after 10 seconds. Well, tablo came up normal. I checked all the recording schedules and there were all there!
Note that there were 2 shows scheduled to record on the night when the security firmware installed. And there were 2 shows scheduled to record which were missed when I left the "Optimizing Guide Data" overnight.
On the day after I pulled the plug and tablo came back up normal, I tried to watch the 2 recorded shows. On the Apple TV remote, I always click click on the right arrow to skip on commercials without pausing the video. Before the update, when I click click without pausing the video, I can see the thumbnail of the scene as I click on the right arrow. NOW, there is no thumbnail anymore which is making me estimate when to stop clicking. Later that day, I found out that it displays thumbnail at every click on the right or left arrow IF you pause the video first! This is a changed behavior!
Later that day when I decided to sit down and watch the recorded shows in their entirety, I was frustrated that it did not finish the show! Both ended with blank screen - usually, when a recorded show ends, Tablo always displays the options menu to "Watch", "Mark unwatched", "Protect", and "Delete". Those two did not.
My conclusion is that, although not mentioned anywhere (Tablo does not even offer a detailed "Release Notes" on this firmware update), the "security" firmware update touched any recorded files in the hard drive or "re-formated" the encoding to new file which, in my opinion did not do well because it truncated the file and lost the EOF signal which prompts the app to display the options menu.
To all who have not yet updated the firmware for "security patch", move your recordings out of Tablo if you want to save them. I use Tablo Ripper on my Windows 11 PC to save recordings to my NAS. Or maybe it just happened on my Tablo.
Those of you who have updated your legacy tablo with the security firmware update, what was your experience?
I have a house phone that I have for more than 3 decades. I want to cancel and port out the number to replace my Visible number. Will I any banked referral credits and/or promo credit in my Visible account if I replace the number on my account? The reason I want to keep the land line number is because it is my first telephone number 33+ years ago.
I have been using my iPhone as digital key and kept my key fob at home. It’s been working great with no problem. However, yesterday at Costco, a huge pickup truck parked very close to the driver side. Then I realized if I have the key fob, I could have remotely move my 2026 SXP HEV back away from the monster truck. I had to enter through the passenger door.
Is there a trick to do the remote parking assist with the Digital Key 2? If there is none then I will delete my phone’s digital key from the system and use the key fob.
I have an automation in Home Assistant to alert me of any animal that may stray in our backyard. There are rabbits in our neighborhood that can do damage to my backyard garden. One day while I was spraying weed killer in the backyard, I got an alert on my phone of animal intrusion in the backyard. I said no, I didn’t see any animal because I am there spraying! I stopped what I was doing and reviewed the alert on my phone and sure enough, it was me on the alert video! I know humans are under the animal kingdom but Reolink or Home Assistant reported incorrectly? I reviewed the Home Assistant automation because I thought maybe I made the trigger to Person instead of Animal but it is Animal!
What do you think? Was it the Reolink Integration in HA or the Reolink camera itself that reported incorrectly to HA??
I updated my Legacy Tablo yesterday with the required Security Firmware update. Today, when I opened my Tablo it went straight to “Optimizing Guide Data” without confirmation or permission to do so! It has been more than 2 minutes and it still going round and round the progress indicator. Can some here explain what thinis all about? Thank you! I hope this does not destroy any of my schedules…
