2020 M340i xHP Stage 3 + MHD Stage 2 — transmission going into limp mode

I have a 2020 M340i xDrive running an MHD Stage 2 engine tune. I was previously running xHP Stage 3, but I’ve since removed the transmission tune.

I started getting transmission codes, including high-temperature warnings and other faults that eventually put the car into limp mode.

I checked the transmission fluid pan and found what looks like metallic sparkle/shavings in the fluid. My mechanic believes it is metal from the transmission.

Because of this, my mechanic is recommending a Stage 1 transmission build through Applied Torque Solutions.
For anyone who has experience with these builds, what would you recommend after the rebuild?

Would you run xHP Stage 1 with the MHD Stage 2 engine tune, or leave the transmission completely stock?

I’m mainly looking for the best balance between performance and reliability. I don’t want to put unnecessary stress on the rebuilt transmission.

Has anyone here run Applied Torque Solutions Stage 1 + MHD Stage 2 + xHP Stage 1 on a B58/M340i?
Any advice or personal experience would be appreciated.

A209A2/A209A3 + confirmed clutch material in fluid — ZF 8HP on xHP Stage 3, 85k km — what am I looking at?

Looking for input from anyone who’s dealt with something similar on the ZF 8HP.

Car/mod context: 2020 M340i, ~85,000 km / 52,000 miles. Transmission was running xHP Stage 3, paired with an MHD Stage 2 engine tune.

Update: I’ve since removed the xHP transmission tune to rule it out as a cause — car is still going into limp mode the same way. So whatever this is, it doesn’t appear to be tune-related, at least not something reversible by removing the trans tune alone (MHD Stage 2 engine tune is still on).

Timeline:
One night I got a transmission temperature warning on the dash. Shortly after, the car started driving strangely and dropped into limp mode. Plugged in OBD and it showed the transmission in “hot mode 2,” with the following codes:
• A209A2
• A209A3

Shifting has continued to feel off and the car drives weird overall, even outside of active limp mode. And now, even with the xHP trans tune removed, the limp mode is still happening.

Fluid inspection:
Pulled the pan/had it checked, and the fluid came out cloudy/murky tan-brown with visible fine particulate suspended throughout (not just settled sediment) — nowhere near the clear red color it should be. Mechanic looked at it and confirmed lots of clutch material in the fluid.

Questions for anyone who’s been through this:
• Has anyone seen A209A2/A209A3 before, and what ended up being the root cause — cooler issue, pump, low fluid, or actual clutch pack wear?

•	Given the mechanic already confirmed “lots” of clutch material visually, AND limp mode is persisting even with the trans tune removed, does that basically confirm clutch pack damage rather than a tune/software issue?

•	Did “hot mode 2” cause any lasting damage in your case, or did things return to normal once it cooled down and fluid was serviced?

•	With the tune removed and symptoms unchanged, is there still any diagnostic value in a fluid/filter service + cooler check, or does this point straight to a rebuild/reman trans?

•	For anyone who ran xHP Stage 3 previously: did going back to stock trans tune resolve limp mode issues for you, or did existing clutch wear/damage keep triggering it regardless?

Realized on Day 9 I’ve been underdosing tetracycline. Has anyone still eradicated H. pylori?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on Day 9 of 14 of bismuth quadruple therapy for H. pylori.

My regimen is:
Rabeprazole 20 mg twice daily
Tetracycline 2 capsules, 4 times daily
Metronidazole 500 mg 4 times daily
Bismuth subsalicylate (2 tablets) 4 times daily

Today I realized I misunderstood my tetracycline instructions. My bottle says “Take 2 capsules 4 times daily,” but I’ve only been taking 3 capsules total per day for the first 9 days instead of 8 capsules per day.

I called my doctor as soon as I realized the mistake. She told me to continue taking it correctly from now on (2 capsules, 4 times a day) and said it might or might not have cured the infection—there’s no way to know until I do the follow-up test.

Has anyone else made a dosing mistake like this and still had a successful eradication?

I’m trying not to panic, but I’m wondering:

Did your treatment still work after missing or underdosing tetracycline?

Did your doctor have you extend the treatment or just finish the remaining days?

What was your follow-up test result?

I’d appreciate hearing your experiences. Thanks!

Day 7 of quadruple therapy – extreme fatigue, bloating, and constipation. Anyone else?

Hi everyone,

I’m on Day 7 of 14 of bismuth quadruple therapy for H. pylori:

Rabeprazole 20 mg twice daily
Tetracycline 500 mg four times daily
Metronidazole 500 mg four times daily
Bismuth subsalicylate (2 tablets four times daily)

I’ve actually been taking rabeprazole for about a month before starting the antibiotics while waiting for my doctor to prescribe the treatment.

My biggest issue is extreme fatigue, especially after taking metronidazole with the 2 bismuth tablets, particularly at night.

I’m also dealing with:

Bloating that comes and goes
Constipation (sometimes I can’t poop)
Mild nausea occasionally, but no vomiting
Has anyone else experienced this during treatment?

Also, what diet helped you the most while on quadruple therapy?
I’m looking for foods that are easy on the stomach and might help with the bloating and constipation.

Thanks!
