Thoughts on my refreshed combat experience?

I still want to redo the logs in the middle, but so far so happy, unified world bottom hud (still some work to do to nail it) with the combat hud so the switch is smooth.

Current combat experience can be tried on https://berrus.app

This new version will be a complete new game!

Building a new web interface for my online browser RPG

The game is heavily inspired on RuneScape and Path of Exile, so originally I "copied" the RuneScape website approach.

But as I was preparing the new version I wanted a new-mmo-game-kinda feel, so I redesigned it from scratch. It has a day/dusk/night cycle based on the game clock.

Thoughts?

You can see the current version still live on the game page:

Building dev tools is the real AI cheat code

When it comes to AI you may think the biggest gain is the content development speed up, and it is, but a real game, as a real product requires a lot of iteration and polish, so all the gains you get from AI are "reduced" because of it. Every new feature shipped requires lots of iteration.

Now, dev tools to help shape the game? They have huge impact, help you visually develop the game, and with the right telemetry/logging it gives clean insights to the AI to leverage and build the game better, and they don't need to be polished or perfect, they just need to work for you.

In this screenshots you can see:

  1. My world map engine, with all the polygons and roads drawn, with a performance hud on the top right to check stuff in check (is a browser game!).

  2. My scenario engine, with prop placement etc..., a full blown editor to build scenarios fast.

  3. My back office with some insights into users, activity and so on.

Game is https://berrus.app, a free to play game, mix of Path of Exile and RuneScape. Coming soon to Steam.

Building a new generic menu component to make my web game more gamey

Hello, here is a short video of an upcoming update of my game in which I showcase the new menu component, pure web (React + Tailwind), but that behave like an actual mmo-lite UI. This is allowing me to build a richer-gamey-like experience and move away from a browser/page based experience.

Also some skills (RuneScape like) showcase.

The game is free to play and playable already on: https://berrus.app, and soon coming to Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4126930/Berrus/

I have been adding regions with their crest on my game world map, thoughts?

Hello!

I'm trying to make the game more engaging and add another layer of complexity/lore/politics on top of the current simple online RPG loot/progression layer and I wonder what do you guys think.

Clouds are dynamic and move around 😛.

Game is https://berrus.app (already playable with dozens of active players, join us on discord!).

Removing time between rallies on a Padel match video

Hello, recently I tried to record myself, first to visually see my defects and areas to improve (easier on video) and second to motivate me to raise my game to 4.0 (Spain, Playtomic).

The problem, what I thought it was easy, record a game, cut time between points, upload a 20 minute video is a real and incredible chore.

Is there any software, tip or technique to speed up this part?

I don't want to upload a 1.5 hour padel match on Youtube.

Hello! I'm slowly migrating the game ( a RuneScape + Path of Exile mix ) from purely web page based to a real 2d game that you can move around and interact.

Today was the turn of Arena, Museum and Bank, which also included new features for them.

You can join a community, of over 500 players, for free on your browser and mobile on: https://berrus.app .
