first time organizing a conference...

hey everyone! i was wondering if anyone here has experience organizing a conference. a group of us phd students are currently organizing one, and we're at the stage where we're trying to promote it/encourage more submissions. i would be especially interested in hearing about any platforms, social media strategies, or other tools that helped you spread the word.

i'm also curious about the conference day itself. are there any things you wish you'd planned for earlier, like small details that turned out to be surprisingly important?

hey there! i am planning to conduct a phd project where i will be recording participants in a quiet room while they are speaking/singing. after the recording sessions i will analyze the acoustic properties of the recordings (so the recordings should be really clean and give pitch/loudness details well), and another group of participants will listen to them for a perception task. do you think a boundary mic would be suitable for this kind of study compared to options like sm7b or a rode condenser mic?
