Non-epidural induction stories?

Just wanting to hear some birth stories from women who were induced and opted out of the epidural. How far along were you? Why did they induce? What was it like? Did you use other pain relief methods?

Any way to keep this thick hair and these strong nails?

I’ve had a pretty rough pregnancy, but one of the few perks (other than growing this perfect little bean) has been my hair and nails! My hair hasn’t been this thick since I was a child and I haven’t even so much as chipped a nail in months and months. It’s all going to go away isn’t it? Anyone have any tips for keeping this up post-birth?

OB wants to induce at 39 weeks bc I’m 36yo

I’m currently 32 weeks and my OB is suggesting I should be induced at 39 weeks because of advanced maternal age. I’m sure BMI (40) is also to do with it, but she hasn’t mentioned that. She said there’s a greater risk of stillbirth because of my age.

This is my first and I really want to go spontaneously and labor at home until it’s time to go to the hospital. I know I have to stay open minded but my dream birth would be very low intervention. I don’t plan on an epidural. I’m concerned that induction will make it too painful to pull that off. Also, risk of C Section increases with epidural.

I know the stillbirth risk does go up by like 4x with higher age and BMI but it seems to me we’re still talking like 4 out of 1,000 so not even half a percent chance.

I completely trust my office, but I can’t wrap my head around why such a small risk is worth induction when everything so far has been completely healthy: no high BP, no GD, he’s in 70th percentile, I’ve only put on 20lbs.

Would you roll with the induction or push back a bit?

Sweet relief from pelvic pain!

I’m nearly 31 weeks and for the past two months I’ve been experiencing hip-to-hip pain when I walk, with it getting way worse when I’d try to lift my legs forward (think, put on underwear or get my legs onto the couch). No one, including my OBs and MFM have been able to explain it. It’s not exactly pelvic girdle pain or round ligament. I was worried it was the weight of my apron belly or something…

Turns out, baby has been lying transverse, hip-to-hip. I did some exercises & positioning to get him to flip his head down and the pain is GONE! I can walk normally, almost at normal speed, without pain! Wahoooooo.

Help me choose a mattress for this? Advice on age usage?

We’re due in August and planning on going from bassinet to this floor bed instead of a crib at around 6+ months or so. Just realizing that might not be a recommended. We did already receive this from our registry though, is there anyway to make this work for a 6 month old/what age would you recommend it for? Anyone have an extra-firm mattress recommendation no thicker than 5 or 6 inches? ** these pics are from the product website, I’d never have anything hung above the bed***

27 weeks feeling so much fear and anxiety

I can’t seem to shake it off today. My blood test came back for the 1hr GD test and it was elevated (147) and I can’t stop spiraling that this is going to mean I have to have C-section. I made the mistake of watching C-section videos on social media and I’m just absolutely terrified. I want to request general anesthesia if this ends up being the case, but how awful to miss my baby’s birth and first moments. But my anxiety is so intense I really don’t think I could lay there through that.

More than anything I just want a vaginal birth with no epidural and no inducement. I’m just so scared that they’re going to insist on an induction that will lead to a C-section because of my BMI (42) and age (36), plus potentially maybe GD.

Idk what I’m looking for here, I just needed to say it all. I’m freaking out. My husband is so supportive and sweet and wonderful but he just keeps telling me not to spiral.

1hr not fasting 147H - should I be worried?

Hi, I’ve always had a great A1C, I’m 26 weeks pregnant. Should I be worried? Has anyone had something similar and been good? Do people usually fast for the one-hour?
