Tingling upon starting Lyrica

I have started on Lyrica 25mg ×3 and have noticed an increase in tingling & twitches in my neuropathy effected areas. It's mostly about an hour after dosage and gets better after a few hours. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it gets better as I get used to the medication? I do feel like my pain has decreased.

1 Year Update

Brief history: 1 year ago, I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin to treat a Pseudomonas sinus infection. I have a mild form of Cystic Fibrosis and was lucky enough to reach 30 without (knowingly) having to resort to fluroquinolones.

Before starting the course, I was aware of the possible adverse effects, but the clinic assured me that Cipro was one of their most common medications and to stop reading into it too much.

Within the first few days I felt tingling and pain in my Achilles. I pushed through another couple of day because the Pseudo had been giving me hell for months, but on the 5th, day contacted the Dr who told me to stop the Cipro.

My symptoms progressed into a full body reaction. In term of being floxed, I would only classify myself as mild to moderate. In saying that, for the last 12 months, the majority of the time I have been unable to work, play my guitar or do any exercise beside a light walk without inducing a flare.

I will also add that the clinic that prescribed Cipro told me that my reaction was not Cystic Fibrosis related so I would have to go see another Dr about my issues. Pretty upsetting as I had been with them for nearly 15 years. I have since changed to a different clinic.

Symptoms:

Tendon Issues - Body wide tendon pain, at my worst barely able to walk. Scans did show inflammation and bursitis but no tears. Fingers maybe the only are not affected.

Neuropathy - Body wide burning/prickling sensation, as well as the feeling of being sunburnt. Pressure around my eyes, nose and mouth. Tinling in my face and left arm.

Tinnitus

TMJ

Joint Popping/Cracking - Most joints effected, right side of my body being more prominent. Loud, mostly painless cracks.

Muscle Twitching - Usually when I'm lying in bed, pretty intense when it happens but not every day.

Muscle Tightness - Mostly in my lower body. Hamstrings, calves and feet in particular

Update: First 6 months were obviously the worst, mostly constant symptoms, but months 6-10 were probably the best I had felt. Flares came less often, and my "windows" of feeling good kept getting longer.

During month 11 I was feeling probably the best I had, so I started some light exercise. I even made a post about being able to walk 1km. I was doing a few pushups and very light weights.

Unfortunately, this led to a pretty major flare which at this point I would call a relapse. It has been a month, and I am still dealing with back, shoulder, knee, side and hip pain, as well as neuropathy being intense, and tinnitus making a comeback. Neuropathy has been pretty constant the whole time and I can kind of handle it, but the tendon/joint issues are my biggest struggles.

Pretty upset with my current situation. It's always tough to come to terms with a flare after making improvements. I rarely leave the house as on top of the pain, I'm afraid of contracting a virus. I'm worried about my future and how well my body is going to be able to recover.

I still take NAC, COQ10 and Mg Glycinate every day.

It's sad seeing new cases post in this sub every week. It's hard to understand how this is still allowed to happen. I appreciate all the posts from others who have mostly recovered after 2+ years, I hope I can add mine eventually.

In some positive news, after years of IVF my wife is 8 weeks pregnant! We are beyond excited. I'm just hoping that I will have improved by the time our baby arrives.
