Dressing A Galaxy - similar books at a more affordable price?

Hi, the title pretty much sums it up. I ADORE Star Wars fashion, especially the prequel era so when I found out about the book Dressing A Galaxy (Trisha Biggar) I was disappointed to see that none of the bookstores in my area sell it (sucks being an Australian), and I could only find it on Amazon and Ebay for like $1,000. Again, I love Star Wars fashion but not THAT much.

Are there any other books that delve into Star Wars fashion, but at a more affordable price? Like anything less than $100. Specifically the prequel era but I'll take anything atp.

Thanks!

What planet would you add to SWTOR and why?

Personally, I'd love to see Naboo in SWTOR. Padmé is one of my favourite Star Wars characters, and I also love the scenery and architecture of Naboo so it would be interesting to see how it would look 3,000 years before the prequels. I remember reading somewhere that by the time of the Old Republic, Naboo was still just beginning to be settled so I can imagine that it would look very different.

Have I been hired?

Hello, I had a group interview at Kmart a couple of days ago, and the next day I received an email from Kmart basically asking for me to provide proof of my working rights. The email also contained information about Fairwork. In my past experiences, never had this information/task provided to me unless I've been hired. Plus, I remember that the interviewer told us that we would hear back next week since she still had more interviews coming up.

In regards to whether I've been hired, the wording is a little vague. Does this email mean that I've been hired, or is it just a part of Kmart's application process? It's a big company so I can imagine that they just do this to get a sense of who has working rights since so many people apply for the role/s.

Thanks in advance!

How can I go about securing a job here?

Hi, I'm looking to get out of one of my jobs and I've decided to apply for holiday casual jobs, including here at Kmart. I've applied for a couple of stores local to me, but having worked for big companies I know that it can be competitive. I've had heaps of experience, but I'm also 20 soon so I feel like it'll be hard for me to get a job when I'm competing with 15 year olds.

I've already applied online, but I'm thinking of going in-store and introducing myself to a manager to hopefully stand out a little bit. However at work I've been in situations at my own jobs where people have handed in resumes and my managers didn't take them.

Basically, what I'm asking is, is it actually worth me going into the stores that I have applied to? Also, if I do go in, would I be better off speaking to the person at the entrance of the store, or at the service desk? Any tips would be super helpful! Thank you!

Is August a good time for applying for Christmas Casual jobs?

Hi, the post goes pretty much as the title says. I'm hoping to get a Christmas casual job, I did actually receive one last year when I applied during September (which I know is the peak season for recruiting), but I was wondering if August is a good time as well? I'm worried that it's too early but I want to make a good impression by taking initiative and looking for summer jobs before most people do in September.

I'm planning on doing this by going around to different stores and handing in my resume, so I am worried that if it is in fact too early I'd be annoying employers.

Thanks in advance!

Doing a concurrent diploma of languages (Italian)?

Hi, I'm currently a first year crim student and I was actually interested in doing a diploma of languages in Italian alongside my degree. The thing is, I'm not sure if it's worth it? I actually transferred into this degree, so I'm already starting a year late ig.

When I was working out the logistics, I came to the conclusion that I would probably have to study for an extra year. So I'll be studying for four years in total, I'll finish my crim degree in my third year and the fourth year is part-time as I'll only be doing the diploma, if that makes sense.

I'm not sure how this will go, employment-wise. Firstly, I'll be 23 when I graduate meaning I've basically been in uni for 5 years. Also I'm concerned that since I'm doing two degrees together, I won't technically graduate from my crim degree until I finish my diploma. I was hoping that I could receive my crim degree in my third year so I can get into the workforce straight away and finish the rest of my studies part-time.

Another reason I'm unsure, is because I am considering doing an honours degree if I decide I want to go into research, and if I do the diploma I'm not sure if I'll want to do the honours, and vice-versa. I really want to study Italian, as I actually am Italian myself and I don't want to lose the language as I haven't learned it since high-school, plus knowing another language is extremely useful. I was thinking of using it to even become a court interpreter, if that becomes possible for me to pursue. I've also been considering working in research because I've always loved being in learning environments, and when I interact with my tutors I would like to see myself doing their job (although I've heard it's definitely not sunshine and rainbows).

Sorry for the rant guys! Basically I'm deciding between a diploma of languages and honours year. I may go into ASK La Trobe, however last year when I was transferring and needed support on what course to pick, I honestly found them quite unhelpful so I thought I would come here for opinions and also in case there's other factors I may not have considered in my decision-making. Thank you in advance!

Just posting this because this subreddit is dying down a little bit, plus I'm bored and would rather procrastinate than write my essay.

Literally just drop any fact or piece of lore, anything counts.
