Installing 3rd row seats, this shoulder strap is toghtly coiled and will not release. There are plastic covers on either side, and small release hatches but the covers are on fast. How can one remove these without damaging the covers?

I assume there will be a catch or latch inside that when released will allow me to extend the belt and get it to where it needs to be

This fella would not sit still! Had a lithe flexy little frame and a couple of feelers at the end. Who do we have here?
