Why does the Indian school system still force 10–14 hour days of just sitting when self-study exists?

Curious what people think about this. A lot of schools (especially for SSC/boards) still keep students stuck in classrooms for insanely long hours with almost no breaks, no sports, nothing. Just sitting and listening. Has anyone here actually tried proper self-study and only gone for exams/tests + the final months before boards? How did schools handle the attendance part? Do you feel the long fixed hours actually help, or is it mostly just tradition at this point? What’s your honest take on how useful the current system still is?

A few days ago I posted my survival world... here's the progress so far

So, after searching for a village for ages, I finally found this desert biome village, which I honestly don't like much because of the limited resources.

And somehow, at night, the villagers aren't sleeping and keep getting killed by husks and zombies. So now there's only a few villagers left.

And here I am, being a dumbass who decided to build my base here after putting in all this effort and wasting a bunch of resources. 💀

So I need some advice: should I just accept my fate and stay here, or should I say a hard goodbye to this base and move somewhere else to build a new one?

Anyone else dealing with this after the update?

Whenever I’m playing ranked races it lags like crazy. That lag just slapped my RP hard. Thought it was my device so I dropped the graphics to low and turned everything off, but it still sucks. And when I tried to watch the replay after the match it straight up crashed. Not sure if it’s only me though.

Can someone help me understand my CBP and CRP reports? My doctor said it's just an allergy.

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Weight: 60-62 kg

Smoking status: Non-smoker

Current medications:

- Azecool Nasal Spray

- Snizamont FX

- Defoprix 6

- Azithral 500mg

- Esobiz DSR

Septoplasty performed in February 2026.

No other significant medical conditions that I'm aware of.

Current complaint: For the past few days, I've had a blocked nose (the blockage alternates between the left and right nostril), a feeling of having a cold, mild neck stiffness, slight pressure in my head, and occasional white/green nasal mucus. I don't think I currently have a fever, although I initially felt unwell and wanted to stay wrapped in a blanket. My symptoms have gradually improved after starting the medications prescribed by my ENT doctor.

I had the following tests:

CRP: 12.9 mg/L (elevated; reference ≤6 mg/L)

CBC: WBC 9,500/µL (normal), Hemoglobin 15.7 g/dL (normal), Platelets 335,000/µL (normal), MCV 114.5 fL (high), MCH 37.3 pg (high).

I'm mainly trying to understand:

Does this pattern look more like a viral upper respiratory infection, a bacterial sinus infection, or something else?

Should I be concerned about the elevated CRP with a normal WBC count?

Is the elevated MCV and MCH something that should be investigated separately (e.g., vitamin B12 or folate deficiency), or could it be temporary due to the current illness?

Is there anything else I should ask my doctor to evaluate at my follow-up appointment?

SUMMER HUNT EVENT THE JESKO BOSS

Has anyone actually beaten the Jesko boss yet?

I'm getting close, but it's insanely difficult with a regular car. I still haven't gotten any good cars from the drops, so I'm just grinding and hoping for better luck.

Also, for anyone who's already cleared it, what unlocks in the next stage? Do we get access to new cars like the Bugatti Centodieci, McLarens, or other higher-tier cars?

My dad had a heart attack, stent, and POBA. Why does he still have recurring left chest pain?

My dad is 42 years old and has a long history of alcohol use, smoking, and tobacco/gutka. About 2 weeks ago, he had a heart attack and doctors placed a stent through the groin (angioplasty).

A few days after discharge, he developed symptoms again such as nausea, sweating, and shortness of breath. Doctors found a clot issue and performed a POBA (Plain Old Balloon Angioplasty). Since then, he has been discharged and is taking the following medications:

- Fondared 2.5 mg

- Ceftum 500 mg

- Xygrel 90 mg

- Ecosprin 75 mg

- Flavedon MR 35 mg

- Nexito Plus 5/0.5 mg

- Rosuvas 20 mg

- Nikoran 5 mg

- Nitrocontin 2.6 mg

- Thyronorm 100 mcg

- Nexipro RD 40

My concern is that he sometimes gets a stinging, poking, or burning pain on the left side of his chest. It comes for a while, settles down, and then returns later. Doctors have checked him and recently said his heart appears stable, and some of the symptoms may be gastric-related.

He also quit alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco suddenly after the heart attack.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone experienced recurring chest discomfort after a stent or POBA?

  2. Can these medications cause acidity, gas, nausea, or chest discomfort?

  3. Could nicotine/alcohol withdrawal contribute to these symptoms?

  4. Does poor eating or taking medications with very little food make these symptoms worse?

  5. How long did it take before post-procedure chest discomfort improved for you or your family member?

I'm looking to hear experiences from people who have gone through something similar.

Thank you.
