I wish Parkside sold a main-follow plug

I know at least one of the shop vacs Parkside sells has an integrated plug that automatically starts the vac, but I already own a shop vac. And jeez, all the options out there are so expensive. I wish they make one.

Original 14g basket is far easier to dial in (don’t overdose your basket)

I’ve been using the original double basket with 16g, mainly because that seemed to be the commonly recommended dose and I never bothered to change the basket.

A few months ago, I decided to try the manufacturer’s recommended 14g dose instead, and the results honestly surprised me!
The espresso was noticeably easier to dial in and I was getting better extractions.

I didn’t think much of it until a friend suggested we do a head to head test with his larger IMS basket. After trying both, he was pretty quickly convinced that the original basket was producing better espresso and was also easier to dial in.

I know one common argument is that baskets like the original one can increase puck pressure. But I’m not convinced that’s what’s happening here.

My hunch is that not overdosing the basket lets me grind finer, and that’s what’s giving me better extraction and making the original basket easier to dial in.

this is just my experience and I’m sure there are plenty of variables involved. But it made me wonder how many people are simply putting too much coffee in the stock basket because a larger dose is commonly recommended

Mother of pocket holes

Noticed these at a playground. Really curious to know what tool makes them.

They’re much bigger than they look in the photo

Two supermarket theft videos and two completely different reactions

I watched a couple of videos about people stealing from supermarkets.

In one video, it was a local man. Most of the comments were blaming the government for higher VAT, supermarkets for cutting staff and replacing cashiers with self-checkouts, or showing sympathy for the guy, saying maybe his family is struggling and he needed help.

The other video showed a woman. It wasn’t even clear whether she was local or not, but she had a different skin color. The comments there were completely different. Suddenly it became all about immigration, blaming immigrants, racial background, and bringing up every possible issue connected to them.

Maybe there's some truth in parts of both discussions. But the fact that people react so differently to similar situations is not a good sign for where society is heading.

Humans are not naturally cruel to each other just because they look different or come from somewhere else. Fear and division are taught, repeated, and amplified.

Just a heads-up: someone is working very hard to divide people.

Edit: Link to videos

YouTube history didn’t help me find the exact video, so I just clicked on a random video featuring someone with a different skin tone. There are plenty of similar ones. You can easily find multiple examples of both cases I mentioned. and the comments tend to follow the same pattern every time.

Just search for winkeldiefstal. It’s easy to find examples of both cases. almost very consistent. Instagram is even worse
