I’m obsessed with making kimchi now…
Made my first ever batch last month and now I have the urge to kimchi-ify everything……. Anyways I had a bag of bok choy that was about to go bad so I made this…. I’m pretty happy with the colour :)

First time brewer. I just bottled up my F2 (did one with cherry juice and another with papaya juice!) only to realize that I’ll be out of town when my F2’s done.
If I stick it in the fridge before I leave, it’ll only have 2 days on my shelf…. But if I wait, it’ll be fermenting for 8 days. Does anyone have advice for what I should do? I feel very silly
Brewed my first ever batch 4 days ago and used a half a bottle of Synergy because I don’t yet have a pellicle… it definitely smells like it’s fermenting, but doesn’t smell off or anything. What do we think…. Is it mold?
I am. So done. Like the title said, I’ve been fighting a low BG for 6 hours now. I’ll come up for a little bit—not even get high, I’ll just get into range—and then it’s right back down to 2.8-3.6 mmol/l (50-64 mg/dl). Half of what I’ve consumed today has been sugar, and the other half has been whatever I can shovel into my mouth so I don’t feel like I’m gonna pass out. I started my day at 2:30 AM with a 3.6 (64). I’ve been in range for 6 hours today, the rest has been fighting lows. I’m tryin to lose some weight too but that shit feels outta the question when I gotta deal with shit like this all the time.
I don’t know many other T1Ds but I wanted to get this off my chest to other people who get what it’s like. I’m so exhausted. Fuck diabetes, man.
I’m nervous about the fermentation process. The first jar has an airtight seal on it and the second is a leftover container from store-bought kimchi. I didn’t screw either lid on tight in hopes that air can get out….. but I’m nervous about that first glass jar. Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated :)
I (24NB) am in a pretty bad flare up. Heart rate spiking and crashing between the 60s-140s in the span of minutes, extreme lightheadedness, and passed out multiple times today.
I’ve been drinking 4 litres of water and salting the *shit* out of my food (getting a *minimum* of 3,500mg/day), and trying to rest as much as possible (emphasis on “as possible” as I have 3 jobs 😅), and tracking my symptoms to look for patterns
Besides the water / sodium / compression combination, what things do you do that help you in a flare up?
Any advice is much appreciated, and the weirder, the better :)
I (24NB) fear I may have taken too much advantage of feeling good lately and overdid things. I can feel myself starting to slip into what I fear will be a flare up and if possible, I’d like to avoid it or lessen the damage as much as possible.
I work 3 jobs, two of which have me fairly active throughout the day in high stress environments. Beyond that, my free time mainly consists of doing yoga and going on hikes, though my hikes have been shorter and shorter lately :/
Does anyone have advice or tips for managing burnout / a flare up? Like I said… the more unhinged the better 😂 thank you in advance :)
As the photos show, I am SUPER new to woodworking 😂 I started whittling a walking stick from the remainders of an alder tree I had to cut down
I’d love any advice on the best (and hopefully cheapest) way to waterproof or seal a walking stick :) if it’s possible to keep the colour relatively intact, that would be a dream come true, but it’s not entirely necessary :) thank you so much in advance!!
