Should I put on a palatal expander tomorrow or wait 2 months for my final exams to pass?
I am a 26 years old man. I have crossbite, and it is a reason for putting on the expander, however, after reading experiences from people here, who say that often it is miserable experience for first month, I am wondering if I should move it to after the exams. I know myself, if the experience is going to be miserable for a month, I am going to be miserable and unable to study.
I am supposed to put on a palatal expander tomorrow. In next 4 weeks, I have anatomy exam, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry and a subject I do not know how to translate in english.
I am already deeply concerned about lowering cigarette consumption (it is a given when you study any biomedical field), eating habits (I eat at student cantina mostly), and speaking issues (exams are oral) plus salivating.
Orthodontist says it isn't so bad, and that I will wear it for a year, but I wore braces as teenager, and it absolutely killed my self-confidence back then. I almost missed the opportunity to even study at a university, because I didn't believe I was capable of it.
