song about a pet rock (maybe sleeping w my mom?)
(cross posted to r/tipofmytongue) Several months ago my phone died while I was driving and so I put on my local indie alternative radio station (KUTX if it matters) which was showcasing kindie rock bands at the time.
I swear to God was of these songs was from the perspective of a kid who had purchased a pet rock and over the course of the song, the rock starts spending too much time with his mom and he has to have a conversation with it about the rock’s inappropriate behavior toward his mother. I remember at the end of the song the rock falls into a pool and the narrator dives in to rescue it. I have told so many people about this and searched so long for it but it’s just out of my reach. Please help.
