Nymph ID

I checked the sticky post showing German roach stages, but my eyesight is poor and I can’t distinguish the nymphs we have caught.

Location: Southern California. Called an exterminator who said he thinks they are German roach nymphs because they are indoors - and that we could continue treatment on our own and not pay for his exterminator services. I have never seen an adult German in our house. We often get large American and Oriental roaches that come through the crack under the doors to the outside (live across from a school pool). Just this summer we started seeing small nymphs. First caught two live ones in our bathroom, then caught 2-3 in sticky traps by our fireplace, next to the back door, and behind the TV. None in the traps in the bathroom. I even creep around at night with my flashlight looking under the sinks and around the baseboards.

What did I plant?

I can’t find my planning sheet for what I planted and the ID tag is gone. Can anyone help me with an ID? Located in Pasadena, so I would have bought from either Theodore Payne or Hahamongna nursery.

Nymph ID, socal

We are located in Los Angeles, live across from a school, and frequently get large roach visitors (American? Oriental? Both?) in the warm months. However, we recently started seeing these little nymphs. An exterminator came out and said he thought they were German because we found them inside, but I have never seen an adult German roach in our house. I shared three nymphs we caught on glue traps. The nymph pictures online all look the same to me, can anyone offer an ID?

Marathon weekend visit

Hi all. I had planned a trip up from LA with my two little kids for the last weekend in July, not realizing it was marathon weekend in SF. What are the chances that everything is going to be a clusterf****? I was hoping to take them to the ferry building, Cal Academy of Sciences, probably Pier 39 area and Crissy Field. My 4 year old really wants to ride the bart. What do you think? Should we try to reschedule?

Erigeron W.R. browning

I have two Erigeron WR planted in my clay soil, Pasadena, since January from 4” pots. One of them bloomed heavily, then turned totally brown and wasted away. The other is just starting to bloom but I can see the start of leaf browning on this one too! Any idea what could be causing this? I give a little supplemental water when the ground feels dry, and nearby plants are doing ok.

Baby Bear Manzanita

What is happening to my Baby Bear manzanita? Are those flowers? Planted in January, Pasadena area. No regular watering at the moment (wet from a heavy drizzle this morning)

Ants, aphids, and ???

What are all these guys doing on my Palmer’s penstemon, and should I worry? Located in Pasadena, this penstemon was planted in January and just recently got super bushy but hasn’t put out any blooms yet. The bug friends (or foes?) are from the past few days.
