Auto-Select Smite as Jungle

If we're going to have modern pings, skins, trinkets and base gates...

Can we at least make sure my Jungler doesn't forget to switch to smite?

I get that it isn't the end-all, be-all spell it is in Modern, but at least set it by default. This seems like the weirdest quality of life change to not include.

Primaris Head on Firstborn Body

Much has been said about putting Firstborn helmets on Primaris marine bodies. Personally I think it looks great.

Has anyone dared to go the other way?

I'm thinking about picking up a Tactical Squad just to get the classic helmets to put on a newer kit because the look is so iconic.

This leaves me wondering about what I could do with the older models' bodies. How deranged would it be to put them on some tac-rocks with primaris helmets? Would they blend in at all or is this the path to madness? One of y'all has to have tried it...

Ability to Disable Skins

Let's go ahead and assume the worst... that any skin from modern League can be used on included champs.

This alone is going to take a lot of the wind out of classic's sails. Even on the old rift, with old items, and all the rest, we cant pretend like visuals aren't one of the most important parts of the nostalgic experience we're hoping for. This will kill that.

That said: I totally understand Riot needs to pay their bills and offer up a cost incentive to the higher ups. We have to acknowledge that this gamemode would have never come together at all without the corporate side seeing a route to a return on investment. It was always going to have compromises, and that's okay. I don't see another way besides cosmetics to monetize this game.

But please, even if it's buried deep in the settings, give me the opportunity to disable modern skins on my view. I know the client is ancient, but you cant tell me this couldn't be implemented. I cannot emphasize enough that there is no point to classic if it looks modern.

I'm truly hoping what we've seen is a fluke, and not the future of the game(mode). However, I have my doubts, and I don't see them having much time to course correct. Tell me it's a purely cosmetic problem and I will understand, I'm ultimately still here for the gameplay. But I don't think you can truly call this "Classic".

Old players will be turned away. New players with modern skins may be happy, but youre kidding yourself if you think new players are going to be the driving playerbase of Classic.

League Classic or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the Point & Click

I started playing League at the tail end of 2014. I got here just in time to cut my teeth on the old rift, buy Dunkmaster Darius with my mom's credit card, and then get sent into season 5.

Even the rift refresh era was a very different game from the one we're playing now. Arguably, a simpler one. A game with less dashes and slower average movespeed. A game where a Champion might have a point & click silence and still throw their lane. A game about buying health AND mana potions. A game about minions and towers, gold and xp.

A thinking man's game... if Taric's Dazzle counts as thinking.

I know what it sounds like but I'm only halfway nostalgic. I never played in season 3, where it seems classic is headed. There will be plenty that is unfamiliar to me. Still, though, I remember playing through the last days of that very different game, and I've played the games that inspired it. I've searched far and wide since for something to capture that feeling... WC3, DotA, 2XKO (Wait that came out?)... none of them ever quite met the mark.

So forgive a young unc for wanting to go back, and for hoping he might enjoy the game now just as much today as he did back then. I don't think it will be "balanced", I don't know what the Devs are planning to do about that (if anything), but I do know I am looking forward to playing to find out.

I've played and loved nearly every League gamemode (Doombots, Nexus Siege, Nexus Blitz, Twisted Treeline, Dominion, Star Gaurdians, Black Market Brawlers) and my advice is to think of this as something similar: It's optional but don't miss your chance to try it, it may not last forever, and some day you may even miss it

Elemental Drakes are Gone

I remember how innovative the Elemental dragon changes felt when first implemented. It felt like it added a lot of freshness to the jungle, the map, and the flow of the game as a whole.

However, after so many years and changes to the dragon/jungle, I could not be more ready to go back to simple Gold & XP for this guy.

Elemental drakes were always an aesthetic more than a mechanic, and starting with the inclusion of the hextech gates they turned an intuitive boss camp into an overly complex amalgamation.

While I'm happy the game still has it's audience, I'm even happier that I will have the chance to run it back
