Day started with an unexpected face to beak encounter with a male hummy followed by an impromptu feeder purchase. I will be in a hummy trance for the rest of the day, y’all.
See ya *hummingbird whizzzzz sound* ✌️
A couple weeks ago I posted about a new crow friend (which could quite possibly be a fish crow vs american but not 100% sure).
After that, the first crow started bringing around another crow friend/mate/child. The one would swoop in, caw, then the other would follow close behind. Also saw the one crow friend feeding the other. They’d just started cawing at me and getting closer last week. They were stopping by SEVERAL times a day to dunk their food, grab a drink, take a bath, and now… poof.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but… will they come back?
🥺
Edit: and are they OK? A little sad, yes, but also genuinely curious about their behaviors/patterns.
Aka flor de jamaica. Any local shops you’ve come across that sell them? TIA 🌺
Edit: suggestions welcome from the entire state
Nostalgia at its finest. Have a lovely wknd, NJ.
For my next steak, I want to add on a sauce. Anything you’d recommend outside of the “norm” or spins on the classics (au poivre, chimichurri, etc)?
Disclaimer: I’ve cooked better steaks in my day… be nice y’all 😭
Oh, the Lagotto… part fish, part dog, part rocket launcher and belly flopper ☀️
Alright, y’all. I think it’s official.
I’ve got a crow pal visiting the bird bath… and this is a first after 10+ years in this house. It started over the weekend and the frequency has gone up since then. About 5 visits today.
I’ve always been intrigued by these guys and it’s tempting to keep the good times rolling but I want to be respectful and responsible. Anyone know if it’s a guy or gal? Estimated age?
So exciting 🥹
