Most ridiculous episodes/characters?

I definitely lean more towards the true crime and cult episodes. I just listened to Dennis Nilsen and was totally floored by how over-the-top his story was; the whole saga with the plumber and KFC had my jaw on the floor.

Who are some of your favorite episodes with stories and people involved that are stranger than fiction? I also love the Kallinger, McVeigh, Pee Wee Gaskins, Manson, etc episodes. The deeper the cut, the better!

Painted Dog Thing!

I just wanted to share a painting I’m proud of! The Thing is one of my favorite movies and, after watching it for the umpteenth time this past week, I felt inspired to paint one of the coolest moments in the film. I hope you guys like it!

Affordable deep clean and carpet clean for move out?

It's that time of year and I am so not ready. This is the first apartment I've lived at that requires a cleaning at time of move out, so I need your help. Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable and efficient work? Thanks!

What are some works of literature/films/art pieces that you would love for Junji Ito to adapt?

I think he would do an incredible job doing a manga adaptation of The Thing (1982). The way he would bring the alien to life would be nothing short of brilliant! What do you guys think?

Would you consider the original Evil Dead a slasher?

I feel like there's a good argument for it. There's a final boy, implied sex (or at least early stages), isolated cabin the woods location, the killer (demon-possessed humans) dies several times until their final death in spectacular fashion (dismemberment or being buried alive).

What do you think?

EDIT: I just thought it'd be fun to have a discussion about a movie that shares a lot of the same tropes as slasher films, especially one made right around the birth of the slasher. There are supernatural slashers out there, slashers where there is more than one killer, etc. So I was just wondering if there's generally an agreement of where the line is drawn, or if anyone has a hot take they'd like to share.

Hypnotic, funky, summertime bass?

I’m looking for songs like Inner City Blues by Marvin Gaye. Can be upbeat or more slowed-down, but what I really want is an infectious and melodic bass line. Something you can imagine in the air as you’re lazily drifting down a river. Something you can dance to at a drum circle but probably not at a club. Thanks!

Podcasts/resources for Tibetan Buddhism?

I’ve been interested in Buddhism for a while now and have begun attending a local temple, but I would love to continue learning more. I have been exploring the different schools and I think I’m really resonating with Vajrayana/Tibetan tradition. Do any of you have recommendations for podcasts, YouTube videos, or even books? I would say I have a relatively solid understanding of the basics of Buddhism.
