Having folks to talk to that knew my Granny (really she was my mother, she raised me) makes me feel like she was real. She died on the 19th of last month. I'm not religious. I don't think she's somewhere else.

I think she exists in the hearts of those that knew her.

Scary feeling that if I didn't have these other people with their own seperate memories of her to talk to and share stories with--it'd be like she was never really here. Like she wasnt real.

She died suddenly, alone in her apartment. She was 82. I live 9 hours away. I took a roadtrip to see her last year and got to introduce her to my partner. Fuckkk am I grateful for that trip.

But I had always imagined I'd be there when she went, holding her hand. It hurts that I wasn't. I had a trip planned with a relative to see her in June, then it was delayed to July, then August. It's no one's fault but I'm mad about that.

She was cremated, there was no body for me to see. It's like she vanished into thin air.

Due to family schedules, we just scattered her ashes a few days ago. We all traveled to her hometown to do it, and I just got back from that trip today.

I have to go back to work tomorrow and it's daunting.

I wish I could pause life for a while.

I'm doing at least one Oliver Tree costume this year, likely Turbo. If youre into Oliver Tree, lets make an Oliver Forest and rock out to some jams. Maybe do some sick scooter flips or just conga line thru the con and cause minor mayhem.
