Harem Recommendations (Tomarry)

I’m looking for more stories featuring this couple. I’ve already read some on AO3 (I think I’ve read them all, lol), including one that started a few days ago with a premise similar to *The Apothecary’s Diaries* (Tom is the emperor and has to figure out what and who is killing the harem, and Harry is the only one capable of solving it—something like that. It only has one chapter so far, but the tags sound really interesting along with the synopsis).

Do you know of any other fanfics set in this kind of alternate universe on other platforms?

The Fall of the Holy Roman Empire (Work in progress)

So, this is just a brief introduction to a chapter I'm currently working on.

What do you think? Please be kind with your comments. English isn't my first language, and it's probably written terribly, but I did my best with the dictionary and a translator.

My historical details and names might be wrong due to how history is taught in my country, so please keep that in mind. I try to stay as close to history as possible while also twisting the Harry Potter canon however I please, haha.

*

“There have been moments throughout history marked by the deeds of the House of Peverells. Events that took place behind the scenes, which are really nothing more than a transparent curtain, since everyone knows about them, though no one speaks of them.”

Aurora Lovegood’s deep voice filled the abandoned room where several students had gathered to learn more about the family that was now the talk of the town. The Great Hall had always been abuzz with gossip and stories about the Peverells ever since the Prophet reported that Donato Peverell had killed fifteen wizards allied with Grindelwald in Austria during a duel and, subsequently, in a massive explosion. The Peverell was the sole survivor, suffering only minor injuries. The Averys were ecstatic about this; although Donato was married to Aracely Avery of the German branch, the British also had deep ties to the Peverells.

There was also the fact that some branches of the family would be returning to Great Britain after nearly two centuries abroad, and that many of the family’s young members would be entering Hogwarts next year.

The information that could be found about the Peverells was, for the most part, scarce and confusing; his own classmates had various versions of the stories, and the little information they found in books was very vague. The relatives of his friends who were related to them might also be a good option, but communication was complicated, and there was no guarantee that they would be willing to share the hidden stories of their family.

Their best source for that lead was Eleazar Crabble’s great-aunt, Martha Crabble, but she had completely cut herself off from her family, which suggested that the former Lady Peverell was neither foolish nor clumsy like her grandnephew. The next best option was the Blacks’ uncles—Lucretius, Hermes, and Cain Peverell—but relations between the two families were extremely strained.

So they turned to outside sources that might help. Lucrecia convinced the Lovegood siblings—being a good friend to both—to talk a little about the family, and, surprisingly, they both agreed on the sole condition that more students be present. Apparently, the family of seers were former allies of the Peverells, and the story they might know was closer to the truth than the lies and tales that usually surrounded the family of death.

Such was the level of interest among several students that they appealed to the Headmaster Dippet for one of the largest abandoned classrooms the school had to offer. Fortunately, the house-elves cleaned it and prepared it to serve as a meeting area.

“Many of you already know this, of course. What is the truth? What is the lie? The lives of the blessed, surrounded by Death, are full of mysteries so tangled that no one knows their story exactly, for it has become legend, and the legend, myth.” The white-haired girl was, without a doubt, an excellent storyteller in Tom’s eyes. The sixth-year girl and her brother stood before the other students, who varied in age and house, recounting what seemed like the beginning of an ancient tale. Her soft voice was barely audible, so the others had to lean in as close as they could in their seats, with no sound around them. Aurora Lovegood could have made a career out of storytelling. “The story I am about to tell may well be true… it may well be a lie. I won’t reveal anything beyond the facts, and it will be up to you to seek the truth among the cobwebs of deception. Some of you will even know what I’m talking about, and others only parts of it; consider this a kind gift from Fate.

“A gift? Why?” Confusion was evident in the tone of Avery’s question. He, who might have been the most clueless of the group and who found it harder than anyone else to keep quiet, asked what many were thinking but no one dared to say aloud. “I mean, I appreciate gifts. I like gifts, but nobody gives anything just like that without wanting something in return.”

Aurora fell silent, still wearing that same mysterious smile and dreamy gaze. The Ravenclaw girl never felt the need to say more than necessary; she spoke only what was essential, and many of the words that came out of her mouth might as well have been riddles or complex prophecies that no one could fully decipher. It was her brother, Atlas, who decided to answer Caleb’s question.

“We mortals cannot know the plans of the deities who rule the world.” Unlike his sister, who spent more time lost in her thoughts and seeing things no one else saw with those clouded, lost eyes, Atlas usually had a dangerous, observant gaze, hyper-aware of his surroundings. That kind of gaze made some first-year students feel very afraid, and Caleb, who bore the full brunt of the teenager’s unsettling stare, shuddered, though he didn’t look away. “We are merely simple messengers of Fate; you will interpret your gifts as best you can.”

Atlas scanned each of those present, lingering on Tom just long enough for him to know it was intentional. He enjoyed those stares—he even relished them; feeling the envy and jealousy, the fear and respect. Although he was only twelve, Tom had grown accustomed to such stares at the orphanage, and that experience had only intensified at school. However, he found Atlas’s gaze particularly difficult to bear. His eyelids were wide open to the point of being uncomfortable, and his pale blue eyes seemed to see right through the filth of your soul as they scrutinized you.

If Aurora Lovegood was the gentle, soft-spoken white rabbit who invited conversation, Atlas Lovegood was the white hare who kept others at a distance. She, whether to shield Caleb from Atlas’s gaze or because she ignored the interruption, continued with her story.

“The Peverells lay the foundations of empires and kingdoms, and just as they create them, they can also destroy them. It has happened throughout history, though I won’t mention when or where, for we could be trapped here for days and we don’t have the time; however, I will mention one in particular, the most recent one in which they orchestrated the slow fall of the Holy Roman Empire—which did not fall overnight, nor as Muggles like to recount its downfall: due to constant disputes, wars, or disease. It fell to necessity and caution… to the vision of the Peverells.

Tom felt the thrill course through every inch of his body, sending shivers down his spine at the display of power that a family of great influence on a global scale could achieve. The Blacks and the Malfoys were stepping stones on the path he would have to cross; Great Britain was small compared to the rest of the wizarding world, and the power of these families was relatively small; great within the country, yes… but not enough to bring about effective change in Europe and, consequently, in the world. The Peverells were in the major leagues of world politics.

This was what he wanted to instill in a few years’ time: ambition, power, and the ability to decide whether an empire would stand or fall. The power to change the course of the world and history with his own hands. Feelings of awe and envy raged inside him like fire and acid burning his throat and stomach as he wished, once again, that he had been born into a family that could have handed him the tools.

The Lovegood girl, who had always been strange even by wizarding standards, watched him with an amused gleam in her eyes, as if she knew what the hell he was fighting against; she always seemed to know people’s thoughts, their past, present, and future. Lucrecia said that, though the Blacks were sometimes blessed by Fate, the deity would always love the Lovegoods more.

“The crises that led to the Empire’s implosion were created by the Peverells of that time, since two entire generations were involved. The main branch knew it; the winds of war on the horizon were an omen of magic’s exposure—a danger not all wizards grasped, despite the persecutions of past centuries. The Statute was already in effect in some parts of the world. The wizards living under the rules of the Holy Empire still had no interest in signing, for, in their eyes, the promises, deeds, and laws of Emperor Charles VI of Germany protected their interests.

Binns’s classes were nothing compared to what he was hearing right now. Of course, Tom studied everything he could about the history of Magical Britain; as an outsider within the British community, he needed to study years of magical history to understand today’s society. However, what he disliked most was the fact that, since the creation of the Statute in 1689, wizards had erased all traces of Muggle history—which, in his opinion, was absurd since, even though the two worlds were separated by the Statute, what happened in the non-magical world intrinsically affected the magical world. Wars were one example; currently, World War II was affecting the wizarding community in trade, politics, transportation, and much more. Both worlds were interconnected by sharing the same space.

On the other hand, global wizarding laws had to change over time to adapt to wizarding communities. The magical world was not divided in the same way as Muggle schools taught. In 1740, kingdoms and empires still existed, and there were constant disputes over territory. Magical communities might not have been susceptible to those major changes in Muggle historical events, which unfolded differently within the magical world.

One example of this was the creation of MACUSA. Although the American War of Independence took place in the late 18th century, MACUSA had already been established several decades earlier when many radical British and French wizards arrived in the New World. There was no magical British rule, unlike in the Muggle world where the empire existed and the Thirteen Colonies were established, because, on the magical side, the empire never existed. The wizards who traveled to the New World, destroying and annihilating the native magic of the region and its inhabitants, did so for their own purposes and ambitions; it is no coincidence that even today MACUSA still engaged in the barbaric practice of persecuting native wizards.

It was a unique case where the ancestral magic of those lands had almost completely vanished. It was currently known that there were only a few native communities in the United States hiding from the rest of the world. They were even more isolated from the outside world than the English.

“So the Statute had nothing to do with the International?” Abraxas looked at the Lovegood brothers in confusion. Matthew Rosier and Lucrecia Black had the same look of confusion in their eyes, as did some of the others present. Tom hoped his own curiosity wouldn’t be unconsciously revealed. “Excuse me, but why, by the sacred beards of Zeus, do they call it the International?”

Not even the Lovegoods had to answer that; a transfer student from Germany beat them to it: Frida Carrow.

“The Statute was created in Great Britain and gradually spread throughout the world. It was first established in 1689 in that country, but it took three years for the second country, France, to sign it, and so, gradually, others joined in. At first it was called the Statute of Wizarding Secrecy; the word “International” was added several times later in 1775 when the Muggle American War of Independence began.” The girl, much taller than the average British witch, explained in detail with her thick German accent. Unlike her cousins Kathia and Giorgio, she was the heir to the main branch of the Carrows, who came from Germany, while the British Carrows were the secondary branch. Kathia mentioned that Frida’s great-great-aunt had married into one of the adjacent branches of the Peverells and that the German Carrows had very close ties to them. “The Statute officially became international with the fall of Napoleon in 1815, as well as the first independence movements of the European empires in the Americas… Why are you looking at me like that? Don’t they teach history at this school? Now I understand why Great Britain has magical and political deficits. They have the same stagnant knowledge from the Dark Ages. What barbarians.”

Frida’s disdain, along with that of the other pure-blood refugees from Europe who were with them, put the Hogwarts students in a very awkward position. Tom could see Abraxas’s pale cheeks turn bright red with humiliation over his ignorance; meanwhile, the Blacks present showed a certain degree of discomfort and embarrassment. Looking at his friends’ faces, he could see the emotions playing across them. The humiliation was even deeper as they realized they had no way to refute Frida’s accusations.

In recent weeks, many students had begun to realize the vast difference in knowledge and magical ability between themselves and the foreign students. Frida Carrow was by far the most knowledgeable when it came to history. Tom always enjoyed his conversations with her, who, unlike his cousins, felt no disdain for Muggle-borns and half-bloods. She even seemed to enjoy their company more than that of the pure-bloods themselves when talking with them and teaching them about history and magical customs.

It was a pattern that repeated itself among other foreign wizards. They enjoyed the company of half-bloods and Muggle-borns more and shared their knowledge with them, seeing them clearly lagging behind their pure-blood peers. Whenever Tom spotted them in the library, they were always discussing politics, history, or magical traditions, which always made him wonder: what if Tom had been born in a more open country?

These were questions that gnawed at his mind in situations like this.

Tenemos a Tom Riddle, Harry Potter, Dumbledore, Tonks.

Casos populares: Lily Evans, Hermione Granger.

Resultado a medias: Tom Riddle.

When Hagrid told Harriet Potter she was a witch, she never expected everything that came with being one...

The full weight of magic and the duty that her name and destiny would entail. Harriet thought that, after all the sacrifices she’d made to defeat the Dark Lord, losing family and friends, dying and coming back, things would finally be much better. A path to healing.

Had she known she would die in an explosion at a summit with Muggles in the name of peace because she was “The Girl Who Lived and Conquered,” Harriet Potter would have said, “Thanks, but no thanks.”

The whole business of dying and embracing Death as an old friend was utter propaganda garbage from the Deathly Hallows addicts. There was nothing interesting about dying, with the sole exception that, finally, she would be reunited with her loved ones in the afterlife.

To hell with it all.

Harriet was 19, and her entire generation, herself included, was devastated by the war. Fearful, exhausted, defeated in spirit. But of course, the older generation was celebrating and getting on with their lives, hiding behind excuses or running away. Sacrificing the younger generations in a war they didn’t ask for and that only reached their time because the older generations were incompetent fools. And now they were paying for it again, but no longer just Harriet’s generation, everyone was.

The celebrations marking Voldemort’s downfall across Great Britain left traces in the wizarding world that the Ministry couldn’t completely erase. Step by step, Muggles began to question the strange things happening around them, videos, photos, experiences, and online forums. With the internet, it all started and exploded far too quickly.

The generations before Harriet ruined everything by celebrating nonstop with Muggles all around them, and the Muggles —who aren’t stupid or ignorant as the Pure-bloods wanted to portray them— investigated until they stumbled upon the magical world.

Harriet only lived a year of relative peace and tranquility before a second war broke out in the country. Muggles might not have magic, but they had technology and were a much larger population than the magical community.

And what Muggles don’t understand, they destroy. A reaction to fear.

They destroyed everything.

The older generations were the first to be exterminated. The pure-blood wizards were the first to fall, due to their ignorance and arrogance; there was no mercy or dialogue with them—they were brutally destroyed along with their homes and possessions. Next came the children of Muggles, many of whom were traitors who turned their backs on the wizarding world, just as the wizarding society had turned its back on them. Most of them passed on information—their history, their spells, their protections—anything to gain an advantage. They gladly sold their magic or information to take revenge on a society that rejected and punished them, and those who opposed them were tortured and killed. Finally, there were the half-bloods. They, who knew both worlds, tried to negotiate with the Muggles—a peace treaty or talks to stop the massacre.

Harriet was on the list, one of the most famous witches of the century and also a half-blood; with luck, she could hold a conference to prevent further loss of magic.

That was when she died. At a UN summit with Hermione and Ron by her side. An explosion that likely killed all the participants—both wizards and Muggles.

And here is Harriet Potter, dead once again and in limbo for the third time. Waiting for the train that would take her to rest.

Tomarry, Orry o Tomarryrion?

Entonces.

¿Opiniones?
