[Request] What are the odds of dying in a commercial plane PER HOUR PER INDIVIDUAL?

I am not everyone in the plane though. I want to know MY risk of dying. And while by distance is perfectly valid (since if I took a car instead I'd still have to travel the same distance), I'm curious if airplanes are still THAT much safer if we instead assessed the risk by time

Can someone explain why somatic mutations accumulate?

Recent study that hypothesized the theoretical limit on human lifespan due to accumulation of somatic mutations, especially in non-mitotic cells (e.g. heart and brain). https://www.nature.com/articles/s41514-026-00421-6

Why would repair mechanisms fail continually in a way that allows them to accumulate? I understand proofreading enzymes are imperfect, but this isn't like mitosis where if you miss it welp too bad the mutation is permanent now. Presumably in non-mitotic cells they have proofreading enzymes going up and down the entire DNA strand repeatedly forever (as long as the cell continues to live)? Why would they keep missing errors despite checking multiple times AND letting them accumulate?

ITAP for these "joking" discrimination situations

If someone puts the toilet paper on clockwise vs counterclockwise
Referring to people from a rival school
Pronouncing words a certain way (caramel, bottle of water, etc.)

If you put the toilet paper roll on a way they don't, it's very common for people to be like "omg! you monster!" in a joking way.

Wondering if there is a specific phrase for this type of "joke"

Phone-PC sync always takes forever

I took a photo at 3:16am. It is now 3:25 am. iCloud desktop app says it was "Updated 7 minutes ago". That would be 3:18am and should have included the latest photo (but does not).

In general, I find it very hard to reliably get a photo I take on my phone to appear on my computer in a timely manner. I make sure on my iPhone to verify it says "Synced to iCloud". The PC app doesn't have a "Sync everything now" button, but I've tried adjusting Photo Settings, Saving, and then undoing them, to try to force a sync. Doesn't work. I usually end up going to icloud.com on my PC if I need the picture immediately and downloading the photo there (which does work). But there's gotta be a better way to force my PC to sync right? The photos always sync eventually, whether that's 20 minutes or an hour later, but it's pretty annoying.
