Only a few games in. Any tips on how to make the early mornings more palatable or how to survive the elements on the sidelines as it gets cooler?

My sons bike was stolen from outside a community centre.

We live in an area where bike thefts are common, so we knew it was bound to happen at some point.

It was a Christmas present, so he's really dissapointed about it.

Now I'm tasked with finding him a new bike, this time I'm thinking of getting a second hand one. I know very little about bikes. He probably needs a men's XS/ S size bike, any suggestions on brands or things I need to be aware of when shopping for a second hand bike?

I'm not sure how long I will leave this here, but here goes...
