The horde mode mod is amazing. I expected it to be a simple mod that's not too difficult, but it goes from "aura farming challenge" (wave 1-9) to "fuck i gotta lock in" (wave 10-15). It's a proper wave-based horde mod that you'd think would be a vanilla feature of a different game. Best mod by far

This mod is NOT IN THE WORKSHOP, as it's in beta however, if you want to download it (i really recommend you do its fun) watch this 3 min install guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmMC-JkW20s

Overthinking overpredicting into underthinking underpredicting

H. Slash beats all my moves so I should block. But my opponent will expect that. So they would use a guard break. So I should attack. But my opponent expects that I expect them to use a guard break. There for they h slash. HOWEVER. I know they know I know they know. So I block...but blocking is the obvious option. What if I'm over thinking how far they think? I attack....they h. Slash...I get comboed....I get out of combo and stop overpredicting, i block to parry there neutral H slash Which beats on my moves.....they guard break...I get comboed. I lose

New update seems cool but I don't play fighting games so I barely understand the patch notes. Can someone help me?

I will only show the specific note I'm confused on

"Major focus on reducing general combo damage and reducing swingy gameplay for all characters. Games may last longer, but there should be more interesting gameplay instead of spending the whole game in a combo."

What does "swingy gameplay" mean?

-----

"Throw tech now works on frame 0."

This sound different then the throw move. But what is it?

------

NINJA

Caltrops

Is now interruptible on the opponent’s turn after 13f.

"Now Interrupible on the opponent's turn after 13f"

I don't know what that means. I thought the moment your character can move you interrupt your opponent.

--------

Uppercut (Grounded)

First hit has more hitlag on the victim (10f -> 14f), and extends further downward to combo into the 2nd hit more easily.

Reduced DI nudge modifier on first hit (1.0x -> 0.5x)

Reduced hitstun (48f -> 30f)

When hitting this move in neutral, the opponent will always become actionable 2 frames after Ninja does.

At first I thought "hitlag" was hitstun but apparently not. What's hitlaf and DI nudge?

------

Dive Kick (up version)

Reduced IASA (42f -> 33f)

What?

------

Slide Kick (all)

Does not start moving until frame 4 (frame 2 with initiative).

What's initiative?

------

Sweep

Reduced IASA (29f -> 22f)

Once again, what?

------

COWBOY

Draw (toggle)

Should now be directly available on hold when a move could technically be draw-cancel OS’d on block (previously using an exploit).

I don't know what "on hold" is or "OS'd" is.

------

WIZARD

Telekinesis

IASA increased (12f -> 16f)

What? -joe Biden

-------

Launch

IASA increased (12f -> 14f)

Is now interruptible on the opponents’ turn after frame 10.

I thought all moves where always interrupible if you could act?

-----

Redirect

IASA increased (12f -> 14f)

Say the lime bart! "...What?" *Cheering*

------

Magic Dart

Reduced DI nudge modifier (1.0x -> 0.5x)

Causes soft knockdown.

Increased block advantage (+1 -> +2)

At first I thought DI nudge was just DI with a fancy name but the more I think about the more I think it's different. Also dont know what "soft knockdown or block advantage" means.

--------

Bolt of Magma

Increased IASA (13f -> 15f).

You get it

Missile Form

Increased IASA during neutral (22f -> 60f)

-----

You get it

------

Vile Clutch

IASA increased during neutral (12f -> 13f)

I think I understand neutral but my understanding could be wrong so please explain this as well

-------

ROBOT

Moves that create fire on the ground (Flamethrower, LOIC, Boost) now deal 3x the damage, but 3x less often. This works out to be a moderate combo damage nerf in certain routes due to scaling.

This is worded weirdly but I think this means fire does 3x the damage but lasts only a third of the time it used to.

--------

Drive (toggle)

Should now be directly available on hold when a move could technically be drive-cancel OS’d on block (previously using an exploit)

Still confused on "OS'd" and "on hold"

------

MUTANT

Shockwave

IASA reduced (22f -> 18f)

IASA increased when the melee hit is parried (-> 24f)

What?

-----

Throws

Reduced IASA: (34f -> 21f)

You get it

▲ 1.3k r/Deltarune

(SPOILERS) Hey guys! I made a Deltarune OC! I tried really hard to make him fit the art style of Deltarune. My headcannon is that he replaces the dark magic guy (forgot his name), but no one liked him anyway, he does no damage. Unlike my OC, who deals 999 damage.

Why is the Gerson boss fight optional?

I missed the Gerson fight back when ch4 released, and was super confused because of missing the fight.
(i wanted to do the main stuff first, then do secrets in another playthrough.)

During the fight with the fake Gerson, I kept saying, "Susie, that's not Gerson, what are you talking about? That shadow looks nothing like him....IM GREEN???" The soul turning green was something really cool, but only made me more confused as to why Susie was so CONVINCED this shadow thing was Gerson. Gerson NEVER did that. In fact, this is the first time it's been used in Deltarune to me

His appearance in the titan fight felt vary vary sudden and out of character for the Gerson I knew. I had guessed he was probably a good fighter by him insta recruiting some enemies and the fight with fake Gerson apparently being related to him, but Gerson suddenly showing up with titan-slaying amounts of power felt like a bale-out after Toby wrote himself into a corner at the time.

And now the white pen of hope is seemingly in chapter 5. It could be something else, but IF it is the white pen of hope. It is something that will make no sense if you never did the Gerson fight.

That Gerson fight was a very important thing you should not be able to miss, I never understood why it's missable to begin with but now it seems more important than ever. SO WHY IS IT OPTIONAL???

This was the LONGEST (at least 45 minutes) and most stressful match I have ever played. Some of these modded characters are crazy (I'm the Robot on the right)

new player wondering about Eidolons secondary attacks

They get a -5 to hit and half STR for damage.so why would I take them over a primary weapon other than RP? which is a good reason but there has to be a mechanical reason for using them? If not, why would I ever want to use evo points on them other than cool factor. I have no issue picking things for flavor and RP, but if it's a long term invement i don't like feeling like im shooting myself in the foot for no real reason. And example to what I mean is if I have 5 weapons 3 three primary 2 secondary. I full round attack and my secondary weapons Miss Because of that -5. But instead I could have 5 primary weapons and not deal with that -5 when I full round. So why would I want to take secondary weapons?

new player wondering about Eidolon damage

I tried Summoner up to lv 2 and felt like I was a good caster, but my Eidolon felt useless. low damage (1d8 slam or 2d4 claw), comically low AC (14), it was good at skills, I will say, but not in an important way (ngl my fault there). And we really needed a healer, so I switched to cleric and have been enjoying that. I keep looking online to figure out my damage problem, but i keep hearing about how OP the Eidolon is with "crazy damaging claws" without anyone saying anything helpful. in the campaign im playing, there is a LOT of DR so that might be the problem. But I just don't see the Eidolons being good at damage. Now it's not a straight melee fighter that would be crazy, I'm not asking that, but in my experience, when most things you're fighting have DR 5 or MORE (most things have DR10 or more now) 2d6 claw seems ASS. Am I just missing something? What makes the Eidolons so good for combat? I want to know because I want to try them again sometime, but I don't want to be relegated to RP jail again (useless at combat)

new player. how the hell do i get agi processors???

I tried looking it up, but no one says anything useful. The only 2 leads i have are "black markets" and "farm xenon ships". I'm on the 9.00 beta so idk if that changed anything but I have no idea how to find a black market, and I've spent the last 2 hours hunting and killing 7 xenon ships (they really like running away) and none of them have dropped any. i need 9 of these things for a quest and its way past annoying at this point
