Another great find from CV Vault channel: Live at Sheffield's University 26th June 1978 (1st known live recording)

The fine gentleperson who runs the CV Vault channel dug up another incredible find:

>
"Previously uncirculated recording of Cabaret Voltaire live at Sheffield University’s Now Society (Bar 2), 26th June 1978. The Cabs’ earliest known full gig recording, captured on a reel-to-reel tape recorder by Geoff Davis. Edited and mastered by The Cabaret Voltaire Vault."

The sound quality is quite good, probably direct to digital from the source.

Install issue Desktop Client, Windows 11

In another thread I saw a mention that someone was having a runtime issue with the Desktop client, and I am as well. I have the latest Runtime SDK installed for Windows (2.3.1). Anyone else have this issue and know what the fix would be?

Hole Truth doc news: Screenings planned at non-Alamo theaters, and streaming plans

Update from Tom Stern just sent to Kickstarter contributers:

The New York Times is going to run an article about the film just before the release, which is great. We are also working out screenings in non-Alamo cities and have already lined up theaters in Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Nashville, Cincinatti, Saugerties NY, and more to come. All of those will happen starting after the Alamo run, after Sept 4th. Check our Insta and website which we will update as those dates get set.

After the theatrical run the film will be released as Video On Demand, and ultimately on other streaming platforms, as well as physical media. We are working out those deals now and will announce them when they are done.

Code (2026 Remastered Digital Deluxe Edition) announced & available for pre-order

Just got this notification from Bandcamp:

“CABARET VOLTAIRE
LONG AWAITED REMASTERED RELEASE OF CODE
VINYL AND TRIPLE CD

CODE launches today with influential producer, writer and musician John Robie’s dub remix of ‘Thank You, America’.

CODE captures the band at the height of their commercial and creative powers, marking the point that Richard H Kirk and Stephen ‘Mal’ Mallinder signed to EMI exposing them to a world of bigger budgets, but no compromise on their unique vision.

Ever prescient, CODE tapped into an increasingly uneasy relationship with technology, computers and programming that was creeping into all aspects of life, unpicking the codes of control to expose them – a preoccupation that would continue in Cabaret Voltaire’s work.

CODE - OUT OCTOBER ON MUTE”

They're selling a marble vinyl and deluxe 3xCD, the CD version includes a ton of remixes.
