Looking to start a white-collar manpower supply / staffing company in UAE

Hi everyone,

I am exploring the possibility of starting a white-collar manpower supply / staffing company in UAE (supplying professionals such as engineers, technicians, office staff, project staff, etc. to companies on a contract basis).

I would like to understand from people who have experience in this field:

What type of commercial license / activity is required for a manpower supply or staffing business in UAE?

Is it different from a normal consultancy or recruitment license?

Which option is better — Dubai mainland, other emirates mainland, or free zone?

What is the realistic setup cost and annual renewal cost (including approvals, office, visas, etc.)?

Are there any additional requirements from MOHRE or other authorities?

Is there any minimum capital, bank guarantee, or special compliance requirement?

For someone starting small, what would be the most practical and cost-effective route?

Switching from petrol to EV in UAE: Used EV buying advice

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to switch from a petrol car to a used electric car in the UAE and looking for advice from current EV owners.
The main reason I’m considering an EV is drive quality and lower running and maintenance costs, but I want to understand the real ownership experience before buying.

I would like to know about:
Regular service requirements and costs..

Charging set up, is it fast charger installed at home ?

Insurance cost difference compared to petrol..

For people who already own a used EV:

How much do you spend on maintenance/service per year?

Also, any recommendations for reliable used EV models in UAE and things to check before purchase would be highly appreciated.

AED 6,000 CVT Repair on Nissan Altima – Rebuild vs Used Transmission?

Hi everyone,

I own a 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5 SV GCC spec (around 290,000 km). Recently I started facing transmission-related issues — RPM suddenly shoots up while driving and comes back down, and after diagnosis I was told the CVT transmission has a problem.

The garage has suggested two options:

  1. CVT overhaul / rebuild – around AED 6,000
  2. Replace with a used CVT transmission – around AED 5,000

Before spending this amount, I wanted to check with the community:

\* Has anyone repaired an Altima CVT in UAE recently?
\* Any recommended garages or technicians who are experienced with Nissan CVT repairs?
\* Is overhaul better than installing a used transmission at this mileage?
\* Are there any reliable places for a properly tested used CVT?
\* Is there any possibility of claiming this through insurance (I have no accident, just mechanical failure), or is this normally not covered?

Would really appreciate any advice, contacts, or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

Switching from petrol to EV in UAE: Used EV buying advice + maintenance cost reality check

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to switch from a petrol car to a used electric car in the UAE and looking for advice from current EV owners.
The main reason I’m considering an EV is lower running and maintenance costs, but I want to understand the real ownership experience before buying.
I would like to know about:
Actual maintenance cost compared to petrol cars
Regular service requirements and costs
Any unexpected repair expenses
Battery health, degradation, and replacement cost
Battery warranty transfer (if applicable)
Real-world range in UAE weather, especially during summer
Charging availability and monthly charging cost
Insurance cost difference compared to petrol cars
Resale value and long-term reliability
For people who already own a used EV:
Which model do you own?
How much do you spend on maintenance/service per year?
What issues have you faced?
Are EVs really cheaper to own in the UAE?
Would you buy a used EV again?
Also, any recommendations for reliable used EV models in UAE and things to check before purchase would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
