UFO research.

UFO research thoughts.

I'm currently in the middle of reading 'The Edge Of Reality' by Hynek and Vallee. Great book so far but they talk a lot about the state of UFO research. Outside of SETI, METI, and on the ground investigations of sighting of various kinds by various groups(ie MUFON), what other research is currently underway? Are there any projects listening in the oceans for USO's. Or projects involving radar tuned to look for unknown crafts. Or could it be that contact has be made and is ongoing and no one is listening in on the messages we send to them. I guess my question is how much have we as humans actually tuned out instruments to watch our skies and oceans for ET's that are already here or actively being contacted?

Live performance issues.

So I've been working with pd for a bit now and want to add it to my live set. At home I've had it 'crash' a few times over the years. I was never sure why. My best guess was either my laptop (Lenovo t430s running Ubuntu) was weak sauce or I had changed too many of my patch's setting while it was playing music. Anyway, has anyone else had this happen? If not what kind of computer do you use? Any general advice for pd in a live setting?

I missed an update.

So I missed the 5.50 update and now there is 5.51 out. Do I need to download the 5.50 before the 5.51 or is the old update included with the newer ones. If not how do I download 5.50?

Sampled instruments or vocals volume is too low on playback. How do I fix this?

I'm an sp404mk2 beginner. So I have tried connecting and sampling vocals with a dynamic mic, cello with a contact mic, and acoustic electric ukulele with its built in pickup. Every time I play back the sample the volume is annoyingly low. I even have the gain turned up on the sp404, yet the playback volume is still too low. Is there any way to get more volume out of my samples? I found a little work around by running everything through a little mixer first and boosting the gain. I would like to be able to trave places and not have carry the mixer as well.

Thank you!
