Am I being too purist or is this kinds nuts?

I'm trying to research examples so I can visualize what good, infilled suburbs can look like. Also, books/online resources about suburban infill would be appreciated as well
Got these 2406s for work. Have been diligently breaking them in for a week or two before wearing at work. This mark appeared right where the steel toe meets the plain leather. Am I crazy for thinking this is way too soon to be creasing this noticably?
It seems to be the finish wearing down. I know these will be work boots but I'd like them to look decent for a long time, and seeing this after just a couple days of wearing at work is a bit disheartening. But yeah please tell me if I'm being unreasonable. Edit: message received loud and clear. Thank you all for the input!
I attached a second image, a closeup of the fabric. The houndstooth design seems to be woven on top of the (what used to be) white base.
Picked these up at an estate sale for $20- pretty happy with the find overall. The upholstery is in decent shape aside from some fraying along the front edge of one seat cushion, and both chairs could use a good deep cleaning.
I'm mostly focused on cleaning and preserving the original fabric rather than replacing it, though I'm also open to refinishing the wood frames at some point. Not looking to reupholster if I can avoid it.
Would love to know more about these- style, era, maker if anyone can identify them. Construction details for reference: jute webbing on the underside, brass casters, turned legs.
Also open to recommendations for small furniture restoration or upholstery shops in central New Jersey if anyone has firsthand experience. Thanks!
