german roach in house.

hello.

I was sitting in my living room just playing a video game when i felt something crawling on me. saw it was a small roach and honestly didn't even think much of it as I'm used to wood roaches in the house, as we live in the south, MS to be exact, in a decently wooded area. then, because of course this would be the luck of someone that's petrified of roaches, I see those damned stripes on its head.

of course I kill it instantly. already had some diy pest control stuff from a roach freakout I had a few months ago, set out some glue traps and several combat roach baits. I know usually seeing one single German cockroach almost definitely means an infestation, but the thing is, I saw a German cockroach at my workplace the other night, and this is the first time I've ever seen one at home. is it at all possible that it could have been a straggler from work that I accidentally brought home and all will be well? is what I've just done enough or do I need to jump into action and do more? do I wait and see if any more show up? I have advion trio gel and alpine wsg in the cabinet too so it's not like I'm completely helpless.

I don't have a photo of it, but I think it could potentially be an Asian roach. I'm not sure at all. It was a bit slower moving than I'd expect a startled, light-exposed German roach to be but I truly have no clue. I'm going to assume the worst.

any advice is appreciated. thank you so much

help with identifying two roaches-located in the mid-south, US

been seeing quite a few roaches around my house recently and am just trying to get an idea of what I'm dealing with. are these two americans, or wood roaches, or something else? sorry for bad quality and I totally understand if these aren't good enough photos to do anything with, but I tend to get shaky when roaches are near as I'm quite scared of them, and I can't bring myself to get any closer to them lol. any help would be appreciated! (for additional context, first photo on doorframe in bathroom, second photo in my bedroom, on the wall at this point but had previously been on my bed)

what kind of roach is this? (gross pic-smushed roach, sorry)

I wasn't able to get a photo of it before my mom killed it, but can anyone tell me what kind of roach might this be? saw it in my living room at around 6 this morning, crawling along the floor from underneath the couch. we've been having a small problem with suspected American cockroaches and also several wood roaches. I'm located in the Southern United States.

advice on if I'm buying the right products?

I made a post here last night talking about how I cried for an hour and had a panic attack because a huge roach crawled on me while I was in bed lol. I also mentioned how I still live with my parents but my mom won't do anything about the roaches except buy diatomaceous earth and say she's gonna put it out (she never does).

after a lengthy argument she basically said "if you want something done so bad, you pay for it". I begged her to get a professional out here and I'd pay for that, but she refuses and wants to diy it. I don't think the infestation is particularly severe, I see them quite often but I've yet to see egg casings, many babies, or any activity during the day except one that I'm pretty sure got confused and came out of the couch cushions when I sat down on it.

so I've ordered a bunch of stuff based on my research–Advion Trio gel, combat roach stations, alpine wsg, and a pack of glue traps. we'll use that all in combination with the DE I suppose. is this the right decision? is there anything else I need to order? I'm truly in major distress over the entire situation because I'm deathly terrified of roaches. to add on, I keep my room clean and try to keep the rest of the house clean too–I won't say spotless, it definitely has some clutter, but it's not FILTHY. just a little messy, mainly clothes on the floor and a couple of water bottles. I know I need to clean all of that up and I'm planning to deep clean tomorrow, hopefully with the help of my mom. but mainly I'm just asking if there's anything else I need to add, or anything I can do without, or is it just better to keep nagging my mom about professional pest control? I just spent 60 dollars and I'd just like to know if I'm wasting my money or not

what can I do to get rid of American cockroaches myself

so currently I'm sitting in the living room bawling my eyes out because a roach just crawled on me in my bed. like I cannot stop crying and I don't know what to do.

I still live with my parents and I've been telling them for two months that we have roaches. my mom bought diatomaceous earth and won't actually do anything with it. actually she refuses to do ANYTHING. it's like she's in denial. she won't use the diatomaceous earth, she won't get anything like advion gel or sticky traps or anything like that, but I can barely go a day without seeing a roach somewhere in our house and I actually can't deal with it. I'm terrified of roaches and I seriously can't stop crying, I can't even sleep in my own bed

I have my own money but not a lot because I'm just a cashier so please please please if anyone has any recommendations for decently affordable things to use to get rid of roaches myself please suggest. I'm begging. my mom says pest control services don't offer things like payment plans and we just don't have the money right now but I seriously can't do this I'm begging someone to give me some advice

medical issue rendering me unable to eat has given me an eating disorder.

I don't even know if "eating disorder" is the right term. I'm still fat. still medically overweight. but almost three weeks ago, I was diagnosed with a flare up of a condition, that I won't name because I want to keep my identity as vague as possible in case anyone that knows me sees this, and for several days my body completely rejected food and I still can't eat very much. I started losing weight fast. as of today I'm down 17 pounds. in less than three weeks.

I know that isn't healthy at all. I've always had issues with my weight, but I'm losing weight so quickly and it's satisfying something in me. I don't even want to eat "normally" anymore because I'm terrified of gaining the weight back. it's noticeable. in my face, in the shape of my body. I keep getting comments. I don't want to take this too far, but all I want to do is lose, and lose, and lose as much as I possibly can and unfortunately, this is working out too well. I don't want to develop an eating disorder. but I do want to be thin, and it's happening. I'm ecstatic and I'm frustrated and I'm confused and scared and euphoric about it all.
