I liked Amanda, but I think I'd prefer a new protagonist.

As great as her voice acting was, the entire story wasn't very good. I liked Amanda well enough, but as long as the new protagonist is well voice acted we wouldn't be missing out on much.

Amanda being Ripley's daughter didn't really add much except weird timeline shenanigans. The idea had potential but it'd change very little if Amanda was just some random.

We already know how her story ends, and it's not hard to figure out how Amanda survived.

Amanda served her purpose well, but it'd be a lot more interesting with someone new. Amanda's story and character wasn't interesting enough to need more.

I definitely wouldn't be upset if it's her again, but I think there's more value in a new character.

Only thing I want in a remaster or sequel is the option of a more frequent save system.

I get that a lot of people feel the save system in this game is great, but I have to disagree. It feels really cheap to me.

Horror is built upon many things, like atmosphere and a genuinely menacing threat - which this game does wonderfully.

The game doesn't need the artificial tension of losing progress when the rest of the game is so perfectly terrifying. The player should be afraid of the monster and the atmosphere - not the looming threat of losing like half an hour of progress. This game is one of the most well crafted and genuinely scary games ever made, it doesn't need the artificial pressure of the save system to succeed.

The save system actually ruined the fear for me on my first playthrough. I wasn't scared of the xenomorph at all anymore, I was scared of losing progress. It made playing the game feel like a chore. Hell, this game has pissed me off far more than it's ever scared me.

That being said, it clearly works for some people. The easy solution is a different setting with autosaves, or something along those lines.

I just want an alternative that allows me to really immerse myself in the world and the atmosphere without being rushed along by losing all of my progress.

That's part of why I love the Amnesia games so much - perfectly crafted atmosphere and terror without the threat of losing heaps of progress allows me to immerse myself far more, without the frustration.

Correct Gamma for the Collection on PS5?

I cannot for the life of me tell how dark the game is supposed to be. I know it's supposed to be dark, but still.

The right square on the gamma screen still isn't visible at the highest gamma.

Also, no the atmosphere wasn't lost because of graphic updates - the atmosphere is seperate from the dated graphics. Don't get why this is a point people have when people talk about this.
