My 16 year olds best friends mom buys her child vapes - nic and thc and also buys large quantities of alcohol. We are in the US. So my child is offered these things whenever they hang out. I realize I don’t get to choose her friends even though I wish I could. She left a group of very nice girls and this is her new group. What would you do as a parent?
My 16 yo has been cutting herself. I noticed the scars on her legs and tried to talk to her about it. She doesn’t want to open up to me about it but agreed to speak with a therapist. Did that for like a month and said she’s happy now and doesn’t want to see therapist anymore. So I said ok - not trying to force it on her - and things seemed ok. Today while she was at the gym (I check her sheets for blood when she’s out) and I found a note she had written in bed. It basically was a frantic I don’t know what is wrong with me make it stop I scared myself this time stream of consciousness but dang. I did a check in conversation with her and she insists she is totally fine. I straight out asked when the last time was and she said a while ago. I’m not going to push it but how can I help when she won’t open up? I’m not angry or judging just love her so much and don’t want her to be in suffering alone!
