My son has a staph infection in his thumb. We spent the weekend in the hospital and are home doing wound care with antibiotics. He is on his 4th antibiotic because he was allergic to 2 and the third started to have adverse side effects the doctor didn’t like. I just picked up the new one and it’s sulfa based. I am allergic to sulfa. I’m terrified to give it to him but even more terrified to not give it to him. Just sitting here waiting to see if he reacts with an epi pen sitting beside me (I have them because he’s allergic to fire ants).
