Mystery bike dropper.

So I came to my bike this afternoon to go for a ride and noticed that my new frame slider looked awfully close to the body of the bike. Looked a little closer and saw scratches on the slider, then scratches on the clutch, handle, and tail, light, etc.

I’m convinced that someone dropped the bike after I moved my car and then picked it up. A friend said what if I didn’t put the kickstand down and a Good Samaritan picked it up and left it, but I’m not leaning there. Will update tomorrow when I can hopefully get the leasing office to look at garage footage 😪.

First bike. First mods. TST Frame Sliders and Tail Tidy

A week in and I’ve gotten the long tail removed and some frame sliders. Did all the work myself so it was good to learn a bit about the body of the bike. I spent more time trying to find dropped bolts in the frame than on the actual build itself 😅. Lessons learned. Will do a longer post about it soon I suppose.

So, just over a week ago I decided I would finally get a motorcycle since I’ve wanted one all my life. I forgot what sparked the thought that day. I looked up shops in the area stumbled upon one called Bill’s Exhaust’s. Not a dealer, but he had gear and I had questions. Met Bill, the owner, and went there for a few days in a row. Ended up buying a helmet and gloves because I was also researching the MSF course and knew I needed that at minimum.

I called a local course on Friday and someone dropped out of the Saturday class so I signed up, took the 2-day class, and got my certification. I passed on Sunday and went straight to the dealership to look at a bike I was interested in, a CBR650R. However, they introduced me to a Triumph Daytona 660.

I went to the DMV on Monday and got my motorcycle endorsement. Went back to Bill’s this morning and told him I was going to a dealership to look at another bike I liked and he handed me a ramp put in the back of my car. I definitely didn’t think I was walking out of the store with a bike today, but I did.

Left with a GSX-8R. First ride is tomorrow and I don’t think it’s hit me yet that I have it lol

TLDR: Bought my first bike. Thought it would be a CBR650R or a Triumph Daytona 660. Landed on a GSX-8R. Happy.
