What person has played Riot Fest with the most bands?

Brendan Kelly's at 5 with the Broadways (2013), the Falcon (2016), Lawrence Arms (2005, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2021, 2024), Slapstick (2012), and solo (2010, 2012).

John Reis is at 4 with Drive Like Jehu (2015), Hot Snakes (2014, 2019), Plosivs (2023), and Rocket From the Crypt (2013, 2022).

There are many 3s. But I can't think of anyone else at 4 or 5. Josh Freese? I don't know his history enough to know when he was in some bands. Walter Schreifels would be at 4, but I don't think he was with Youth of Today when they played. Who else is at 4 or more?

How do you know if a daycare is good? And what are pros/cons of switching?

My 1-year old son has been going to a daycare center for 6 months. He's there 4 days a week. We chose this place because friends had their son there (though only until the place where their toddler daughter goes had an open slot), they're extremely flexible with part-time schedules, and they're a 5-minute walk from home. But they're also pretty new and there were very few reviews online. It's the only daycare experience we've had.

Although our son seems mostly content, we've had a long-going battle with staff about naps. It started almost immediately after he started. He'd go down for a mid-morning nap generally 10-11 but then he'd be back down around 12-12:30 for what was usually an hour-long nap. By the time we picked him up shortly after 5, he was exhausted almost every day.

Evenings were chaos with little bedtime consistency though sticking with routine. Talking with staff went nowhere. Eventually they dropped the mid-morning nap and said they were transitioning him to one nap per day around 9 months. (I feel like staff's goal has been to get every kid in the under 18-month room on the same nap schedule, no matter how old they are.) He's never been a great overnight sleeper and we can't imagine any of this helped.

(On weekends and the one weekday he's home, he often naps around 10 and 2.)

We jumped back on waitlists for other walkable daycares with more review volume. (We're in a very family-heavy neighborhood with a 90+ walkscore. There are a lot of nearby daycares.) My partner has been adamant that we switch. But I've been thinking by the time we actually get him to another daycare he'll be ok with one midday nap, which has been our biggest concern.

This is all exacerbated by my partner hearing from friends about their daycare experiences, which all seem better than ours. For them, the grass is greener elsewhere. For me, it's the devil we don't know. But I guess we also don't really know the baseline because of limited experience.

I've read other threads about daycare and switching providers. I'm just nervous about swapping now when we think we're nearing a time when our biggest issue would be moot. What are our best/worst case scenarios with switching a 1-year old's daycare? What is an absolute green flag you've seen at the daycare(s) you've liked most?

How often is your street swept?

Almost every year my block is scheduled for street sweeping after Memorial Day. I think the schedule used to be staggered, but it's been pretty consistent at least since 2020. This year my block gets 4 sweeps. Some in my ward get 5.

I checked out schedules for some other wards out of curiosity and noticed huge variations on how often streets are swept based on how many sections are in the ward. I saw streets scheduled for 3 sweeps in a season and others with 8.

So, how often is your street swept and is it adequate for your block?

I saw Neil Young in 2007. I thought it was a great show. He played a lot of my favorites. But on the way out I thought "I have no desire to see him again." I have stuck with that.

A few years later I saw Bruce Springsteen. Excellent show. But when I left I also thought "No need to see him again." Some friends who were there and have seen Bruce a bunch said it's one of the best of his shows they've seen, which has only solidified my stance.

Last year I saw Idles. They were good, though a little preachy. Fun show. Again, I walked out thinking "That'll be the only time I see them." I might see them if they played a festival I was at, but I wouldn't see them headline again.

I like all of these artists, but there's just something about them or those shows that made me think I got everything from them that I wanted in one show. Who are those artists for you?
