Finally pulled the trigger on the Hella covers for the Mk2

Been going back and forth on these for months. Saw a few builds running them and couldn't get it out of my head.

Fitted them yesterday and honestly the front end just looks complete now. The black on black with the BBS mesh underneath is exactly what I was going for. Simple change but it ties everything together.

Golf 2 never gets old man.

center console switch panel finally sorted

Been hunting for a replacement center console switch panel for my FB for ages. Previous owner lost it somewhere along the way and it's been bugging me ever since.

Ended up going with a 3D printed one made specifically for the 78-85 FB/SA. Wasn't sure what to expect honestly, but it fits perfectly. All the switches sit exactly where they should – Normal/Sport suspension, Security button, mirror adjuster. Looks like it belongs there.

PETG material, feels solid. No complaints.

Finally found a replacement for the MK3 steering column trim cover

Been looking for one of these for months since mine was cracked in multiple places. Every used one I found was either damaged or overpriced, and OEM replacements are basically impossible to find now.

Came across someone reproducing them and decided to give it a try. Surprisingly good fitment — clipped right in without any trimming and honestly looks OEM once installed.

1H0 953 516 P

Curious if anyone else here has dealt with broken MK3 column covers or found other replacement options.

Been chasing this part for months. Mine was cracked in two places and every used one I found online was in the same state or worse. VW obviously doesn't make them anymore and the few NOS ones floating around eBay go for ridiculous prices.

Stumbled across a Slovenian shop called O43D that reverse engineered both covers and prints them in PETG. Was a bit skeptical at first but figured I'd give it a shot.

Fitment was perfect. Clipped straight on, no trimming, no fiddling. Looks factory. They ship worldwide and had it at my door within two weeks.

OEM numbers are 1H0 953 515 G and 1H0 953 516 P if anyone else is searching for these. Definitely worth it if your original is trashed.
