SL1 Oceiros No Roll/Block/Parry Flawless

What a boss.

Here's the next no roll in the series. Previously in the series, I did Sister Friede.

Excuse the audio, it cuts out cause I was in call with my friends and it cuts whenever they talk.

This is probably the hardest no roll I've done so far. Mostly because he's so incredibly obtuse between his hitboxes and strategies. I could've gotten it significantly earlier had I used DSA and done him with a +10 weapon and lightning grease, but I really wanted to understand the boss well.

Major credits to u/Zealousarchmage, AcaciaVix, and Mustafa Souls. Zealous' advice and the videos from the latter two helped me the most in getting this kill. Figuring out the strategies for this one is just crazy.

For anyone doing this kill, in the future, here's some advice (take some of it with a grain of salt, I'm not amazing at fighting this guy, just enough to survive a decent amount).

Phase 1:

The whole phase 1 strategy revolves around staying below him to avoid all his attacks. Two attack will basically stop you from doing this, the jump attack and the ice attack. Personally, I think the ice attack is unironically worse than the jump.

You can safely get below Oceiros by hiding behind the tree on the left by the way. Sometimes, I get clipped by his double swipe attack when sprinting straight in.

>Jump Attack

For the jump, Oceiros' jump will end up in different places relative to your position. This means there's a LOT of different scenarios you can be in where a specific method won't work. Here's the strategies that I found.

If Oceiros does the jump right in your face when you're not on his left or right, walk below him then walk backwards. Typically, Oceiros will do a 180 and you'll end up behind him. This is visible around 13 seconds into the video.

If Oceiros does the jump and you're on his side, keep strafing to that side. For example, if you're strafing clockwise/counterclockwise (I will abbreviate as CW/CCW), you will keep strafing CW/CCW. Generally, I recommend strafing CCW as his weapon isn't on that side. You can't see this in my video sadly as he didn't repeat the jump attack multiples times.

If you have a bit of distance from Oceiros, you can look straight up and see which way he rotates, then use that to go underneath or to the side of him.

If Oceiros does it with a bit of distance in your face or when you're right behind him, run backwards then strafe to your left (while facing him) to narrowly avoid the hitbox of his weapon. You can see this 30 seconds in mine after I avoid the ice.

It will take some time to get this ingrained in muscle memory, but once you have it, it's generally not that much of an issue unless you're in some nasty situation with the terrain.

>Ice Attack

For the ice attack, I just tried my best to bait the jump attack so then I could run away and strafe left to avoid the weapon. However, if this doesn't happen I like to keep close and get him to do his step backwards which helps you stay behind him longer.

If he moves forward, I'm sorry to say it, but good luck. I genuinely don't know how to stall him for long enough to get below him when the ice goes away. This is why it's the worst attack in my opinion. It's probably completely an issue on my end.

Phase 2:

The whole strategy in phase 2 revolves around keeping the proper distance from Oceiros so then he doesn't do his charge attack. If you have that proper distance, Oceiros can only do a few attacks. It's a bit hard to explain, but it's like 3 steps away from his head. I recommend using videos to really internalize it.

Okay, now there's really two positions you should only be in, you will either be in front of Oceiros, or behind him. I'll talk about the front first.

>In Front

If Oceiros does the charge immediately, you're not positioned properly. You are likely too close (do not be touching his head or below him), or too far.

If you have proper positioning, Oceiros can either do his bite, breath attack, overhead slam combo, and rarely the tail spin. All of which can be avoided by walking forward (except the last one), but slightly differently.

Bite: Walk forward with a slight angle to the left, you can get under the bite, then walk straight left to get out of him because he will follow this with the charge attack. He has two variants that I know, where he does bite -> bite -> charge, or the bite -> charge. Either way, you should have enough time to get out.

Breath attack: One of the freest attacks he can do. You just walk up and smack him twice then walk away till the proper distance (where the crystals break).

Overhead slam: You can immediately walk below it then do a light attack backwards to clip him. If you're low on stamina, I don't recommend the light attack. I also think that the light attack may be a problem for no sprint, but I'm not sure.

Rarely tail spin from the front: You're fucked. I seriously don't get how anyone is meant to recognize this in time or avoid it. I managed to avoid it once in all the times I've seen it which is a lot. I also have yet to see a winning kill where Oceiros actually does this.

The recommended methods I've been told is spacing it (maybe I just react too slow), or supposedly R1 duck it with some weapons but it's terrain dependent, I'm not the best person to ask about this attack.

>Behind

When staying behind Oceiros, he can do two specific actions, he can jump around to face you, or do his tail spin.

You want to stay in a specific area so that way if he jumps around, you are properly positioned for him to not do the charge attack. This can be seen in the video.

If he does the tail spin, you want to be positioned so that way Oceiros does one of his two tail spin variants, this will be explained a bit more below.

There is two variants of the tail spin, one where he slams down (bad) and one where he does a full 720 spin (good). The slam down variant will happen if you're positioned too far behind, or too far to the right.

The reason why the slam down is bad is because Oceiros doesn't keep the same orientation. You want to stay behind Oceiros' back right leg, but his slam down doesn't make him do a full 360/720, and instead it's more like a 540 which ruins your positioning.

When dealing with Oceiros' tail spin, you want to stay near his back right leg, then walk a bit to the back right. I find it's a lot more lenient if you do a CR2 as well. The positioning is hard to learn honestly, it's a lot of trial and error, sorry I can help much more with that.

If you mess up the positioning, you might end up at Oceiros' back left leg. If Oceiros does the tail spin again here, you can run away to space it. Otherwise, you can run below his tail parallel to his legs and get into the safe spot.

>Extra

If you're far away, Oceiros can do his straight breath attack, you can use this to properly position again.

If you're really far away, Oceiros will do his flying breath attack which can be avoided by sprinting sideways and jumping to clear it. Do not stay in front of Oceiros or else he will do his charge and kill you. I've seen in no sprint you can use the Onikiri and Ubadachi to clear it as well, but I recommend using AcaciaVix and Mustafa Souls' kills for reference on that.

Anyway, that's all. I hate Oceiros. Next, I'm looking at tackling Champion Gundyr. Hopefully, he won't be nearly as hard.

Repelling the Beast Clergyman with the Beast Repellent Torch (+0 Hitless)

I was gonna do no buffs/talismans, but ADHD moment. Peak boss, my few wishes is that his phase 2 move set was a tad bigger though, it's pretty small as is, as well as giving him more HP and 105 poise (currently 80).

SL1 Friede Not No Roll

Please ignore the horrible phase 1, I was frustrated.

Of which, phase 1 is absolutely my least favorite phase in this whole fight. Phase 2 is annoying because Friede can be an absolute monkey and stick by Father constantly, but phase 1 is phase 3 with no sauce and 72 minutes of idling. Or maybe it's just because I've fought phase 1 like a million times by this point?

Originally I wanted hitless, but I kept taking little staggers from her falling on me as you see in phase 3 (I think it's from that) and so I started to get frustrated and that's how you have the incredibly horrible phase 1 gameplay of me trying to fight her quickly for phase 2.

Anyway, about the title, it's not no roll, but it uses no roll strats so I still felt like uploading it. I accidentally rolled on phase 1 of all things, I tapped by sprint too quickly.

I also entirely forgot about the phase 1, the kills all started to blend together by this point so I assumed I was actually still no roll lmao, I keep playing the runs for practice and experience. Once I double checked and saw I rolled, I wanted to respawn Friede, but recently swapped OS so I don't have access to the tools I used before. I tried tinkering around to get it working but I just got a ton of errors, so it is what it is.

This is probably my worst kill so far. I still have no clue how to deal with her hyperarmor swing when she does it point blank though, so I decided to use the charged attacks in most cases to get that little extra stagger time to space her.

Figuring out the strats was pretty fun though, particularly smacking her out of the jump attack with the horrible hitbox. I originally figured that out when she was 1 HP and did the jump, so I tried to R1 and force her to change phases before I inevitably got fucked by the hitbox, lo and behold, new strategy unlocked.

The broadsword was pretty ass at hitting her though, so I tried the club and it seemed to work alright. There's probably a way better pick.

One day, I'll come back and revisit this and do it properly no roll/hitless, but that isn't anytime soon. I have a heap of other kills, runs, and games that I want to complete first.

I'm the developer of the tower, ask me anything

I wanted to make a tower, that had nearly an infinite number of stone bricks. The core fun of the tower comes from gathering the power of great runes. Then, you come out more powerful the next round. We've got a really strong community in Raya Lucaria that loves to chat about magic and ways to continually improve my tower, I love them dearly. It's really fun to see them all explore the architecture and find the new best way to channel more power from the two fingers. Try it out, I'll see you there!

Abyss Watchers SL1 +0 No Roll Hitless

Here's a follow up to this kill, where I killed Dancer.

Working my way towards completing all bosses (not all will be no hit).

I haven't shown it, but Iudex Gundyr was completed hitless.

Vordt, Cursed-Rotted Greatwood, Crystal Sage, and Deacons of the Deep were all completed with one hit taken. I have the footage for all of them (except Sage) but I don't think they're particularly interesting so I haven't bothered to upload them.

I did post Vordt and CRGW onto r/onebros in a supercut with my Dancer kill a month ago if you at all want to check them. I'm working my way to Wolnir now who should be relatively free. Once Wolnir is down I'll upload another supercut to onebros with Deacons and Wolnir on top of this kill.

Now, about Watchers, I must say I'm not the biggest fan of phase 1 when it comes to no roll. I think phase 1 is perfectly fine (and actually fun) when you can roll since you can afford to be a lot more aggressive.

However, I didn't play too well here and had a 3 minute phase 1 that mostly consists of running for a safe opening. The goal is to have the main Watcher be targeting me while the other two duke it out with each other since I can do far more damage than the red-eyed one can.

Still a great fight, I had lots of fun fighting these guys and I seriously think they're a top tier boss. They were absolutely robbed in terms of the health department though. The fact I'm using an unupgraded weapon and I killed phase 2 that fast is pretty sad.

Speaking of phase 2, it's a real shame my winning run had him spam the same attack like 4 times in a row. I was hoping to get the flip in here, but it is what it is.

LVL 1 D5 ED Tricephalos (No Item/Dormant Passives, No Weapon Upgrades)

I got hit near the end so no hitless, and I'm too lazy to redo (hit at 10 minutes)

Only did the boss, not the whole expedition btw

Guardian is really good against ED Gladius

35 revives is crazy

You’d think Guardian would be bad because of ED Gladius’ insane damage output, but the real thing you need the most on Gladius is stamina, health, and positioning (or iframes).

There’s no need to really tank much of anything with the shield honestly. His big combo you can entirely space just by running and a super lenient dodge. So he’s basically just a super tanky character with tons of health and great sustainability thanks to his ultimate.

Duchess is easily the best for Gladius though if you struggle with positioning out of the way on most of his attacks. Her lower dodge and sprint stamina consumption is absolutely godly against the split phase (and especially in LVL1).

I think Wylder is a solid halfway point between Duchess and Guardian with his great revive potential from his ult, higher health than Duchess, and grapple hook to handle the gank phase easier.

Great teammates btw, I know it looks like they were bad from the screenshot, but they did really good on day 1/2. Also, one of them dropped a wending for me midway through the boss which is awesome to see.

ED Gladius Clutch

I always love fighting this guy, its the biggest travesty when I see it's regular Gladius instead in depths. He's my favorite Nightlord tied with Heolstor and ED Fulghor.

SL1 No Roll Dancer (and Iudex, Vordt, CRGW)

Timestamps

Dancer - 0:00

Iudex - 2:30

Vordt - 3:20

Curse-rotted - 4:30

That Vordt hit hurt, I didn't expect him to keep facing to my left so I ended up looking like an idiot going straight into the charge. I tried to quit out, but I was too slow.

I didn't care much for CRGW at the time but now I want the hitless for it...

Dancer is really fun though. I originally planned on doing +0 but I got a bit tired grinding attempts when I was one shot constantly. It made it much more difficult to learn so I just let myself use my +3 Raw Broadsword.
