How are exploration and gear?

Eyeing this game with my friend since the summer sale is in full swing, the combat looks awesome (slow and tactical), from what I heard the difficulty is on the higher side and the art direction is right up my alley too.

However as much as I don't mind survival tropes, that is crafting and building, I am by far more of an adventurer than I am a builder. Dungeons and loot are what I love.

So here is my question, are the dungeons and other dangerous places fun and worthwhile? Is there varied gear to be obtained? How is buildcraft? Is the game a good adventure RPG or is it strictly a survival game?

I saw some complaints about chests and loot, but it's been a while since those posts and maybe some stuff changed?

What consumable shots do you usually buy?

I'm writing this post because I'm curious which shots are the most popular. Personally, I'm creeping up to 1000 hours and my go-to loadouts always have 3 shots: Vitality, Regeneration, Recovery.

I basically never run the other unless I already have them in my arsenal. Stamina in general rarely comes into play mid-gunfight (Though it matters in macro, like chasing and rotating) and poison I also find rather uncommon, I also like just running mithridatist instead.

Add to this four-shot boons that give those situational buffs for half the match at a time and I don't see much reason to spend money and loadout slots on shots other than the aforementioned 3.

However I heard that people do actually use them, so I'm curious to hear how often and why, cheers!

I just pulled Hiyuki, though I don't have either of her best teammates, Chisa or Lynae. I don't like Lynae at all so definitely won't be pulling for her, but I could pull for Chisa. If I did, who could fit the 2nd slot well? I know Lucilla is coming but do any of the existing characters fit decently as well? I'd love to have some pulls saved up for Cyberpunk characters lmao.

Thanks in advance for the advice!
