This new "age-verification" thing could affect your lives. (Don't ignore, this is very serious news)

! NOT POLITICAL/RELIGIOUS, THIS IS A SOCIAL TOPIC THAT WILL AFFECT ALL OF US !

recently, I've noticed an increasing urge for the application and usage of Age-verification tools worldwide. Australia banned social media for 16 unders aswell as, Brazil, Singapore, the UK, some other countries, and especially France have been thinking about it. Recently, I got wind that India has also been trying with their own age-verification methods. And I think I have some points against this age-verification thing:

>Age Verification is not protecting children, its illiteratizing them

Just because you ban your child from public spaces doesn't mean he magically learns how to cross the road or learns basic public decency. The same logic can be applied to online spaces. Just because you ban social media for 18 or 16-unders doesn't mean they will learn to manage basic everyday emotions like online hate and bullying. If a child with oversanitized media grew up, he wouldn't know how to actually deal with the real internet when his age comes. Textbook knowledge works best when applied to real unfiltered experience. You may have learnt about online safety when you were a child, but since you never applied it in a real situation, you're more likely to be targetted and successfully taken advantage of.

>Age verification (and restrictions) are making communities more fragmented, not united

I think this is the entire point of the whole age verification shit going on. Its basically a divide and rule tactic used by the supreme authority we call "governments". When a 14yr old teenager is cut off from a 20yr old relative living somewhere far away, that connection breaks instantly due to "safety". Not to mention how outright banning (in some nations like Australia) can actually lead to alienation of teenagers who suffer from mental ailments and disorders like Introvertism, Depression etc. because online friends are an essential part of social life now. There is a "social" in social media for a reason.

>Age verification/restrictions are only hyped up for election votes

This is honestly beyond obvious to me (atleast). Because "child safety" is clearly a more emotional and "relatable" topic for parents and boomers than "Internet reform laws", the party/organization that proposes these get more support of the adult population, and they can always brush down opposition by saying "you don't want our kids to be safe?". HOWEVER, making laws and getting votes is one thing, but implementing them is a nightmare. To actually see the effects of these so called "child safety laws", the government usually forces the companies to actually implement age-verification and restrictions else they would either fine them a heavy sum of money (like literal debt-accumulating amounts), or simply arrest the CEOs of the companies.

>They just don't get the ground reality

Politicians just label every single thing we do as "just addiction", whereas in reality, many teenagers use and binge social media to reduce thier stress from social expectations, exams, studying, and give them a sense of belonging in thier specific communities. they also think that we are actually the most susceptible to scams/bullying/hate etc. (which is not entirely true, a majority of teenagers know how to deal with/troll scams, defend thier claims, and know how to handle hate by simply ignoring/messing/silencing them haters). They often forget (or want to forget) that they themselves probably would fall for the same "microsoft call center" scam THRICE.

>Everything is "digital", hence everything can be leaked

In India, the government is planning on a centralized digital locker named "digilocker". However, even before the age verification hype spread to India, this goddamn stupid fcking app got HACKED. It had like atleast over 50 million~ registered citizens. Mind you, India is the "worlds largest democracy" (which is also being put into question), 1.4 billion citizens with thier government IDs, passports, drivers license, other government stuff, it sums up to a total of about 11.6 BILLION files (if lets say one person had 8-10 unique government papers). That is literally THOUSANDS of TERABYTES of Information ready to be hacked and sent to the dark web. Not to mention how corrupt the government here is as of now, and how many national schemes failed here and many scandals occured here.

Expect the age-restriction changes to come in about May 2027~ approx. The Companies are trying to push this deadline further, as the original timeline this new age verification thing was supposed to be released on was middle 2025. So I urge all teenagers from 12-19 to stand firm against this thing, and prepare for the coming challenges. I also recognize some opinions such as "Instagram/Telegram/Facebook are brainrot so they should be banned but not Youtube" but in reality, Govt. don't care about differentiating social media from each other so there is no point to be made there.

Thats just a few points that I've managed to write here, ofc theres also points like "where is the teenager's voice in this? are we not in a democracy?", erasure of creativity etc. If you want to add points, you can and I will update my points according to it. I think we need to spread the information that our digital freedom is being taken away, and this subreddit is one of the best way to spread it. I hoped you learnt something new from this post, and see you guys later.

I have an argument against the age-verification trend

False suspension

Hello, I believe that my account (#12567198) was unfairly suspended because of Multi-accounting. I have been playing the game for multiple months now, and recently invited my Younger sibling and Cousin to play it.

I believe that my account was falsely suspended was because of the accounts of both my relatives (#12941751) and (#12567218) which I've also deleted to prevent more unneccesary issues. We use the same wifi, and sometimes have to share with my sibling since she doesn't have her own device.

I also verified my phone and sent an appeal through the game, but have yet to recieve any reply. I feel like it didn't get noticed or was ignored so I decided to report it here.

Im wondering if you guys find it informational, offensive/baised, or just a good way to archive whats happening in the Major Indo-Burmese conflict areas.

For all Zomi Players

I've seen barely any Zo/Mizo players on Wplace (except for me), although I know they exist, so for everyone who is a part of the Zo ethnicities that are players of this game, I propose we united under a single alliance. I made my own alliance named "WplaceZogam" and I really like everyone to join it. other related ethnicities like Kuki-Chin peoples and foreigners are also allowed aslong as they understand the history of Zo and are willing to Cooperate with me. Thank you.

People from r/WplaceIndia has found your map, and if you check thier subreddit, you'll find they're expansionists who invade every country in every map for "nationalism". I'm not even supposed to help y'all, but I js wanted to point that out
