I ranked my first beatmap with a song from my own Featured Artist listing!

Hello everyone,
I recently got announced as a featured artist, and one of my beatmaps with a song from my FA listing just got ranked :)

Link to beatmap

Keep in mind it's an osu!mania map because, fun fact, I have experience charting for another VSRG from all the way back in 2016. Furthermore, I am currently in the Community Mentorship Program for osu!mania.

I'm dabbling in standard mapping, too >!but it's hard :(!<

With this one ranked map I unlocked the medals Quick Draw and Creator's Gambit, set a new mania pp record, and I get to complete the Classified: Genre Edition quest from the Mapper's Guild all at once lol.

My osu!profile if anyone wants mutual :>

New Featured Artist: Inconsequentialist

Hello everyone :>

I'm pleased to announce, that is to say I've been so nervous that I couldn't sleep for the past two weeks leading up to this, that I am officially a Featured Artist for one of my favourite video games: osu!

Link to the announcement

All four of my music-related projects are being represented on the initial listing with 13 songs in total under the alias Inconsequentialist.

Versus My Phobia is the band it all started with in 2009. The years between coming together as a group of strangers and then ending up touring across the country for seven years as a group of friends, meeting all kinds of people that connected with our music (or wrote hilarious reviews), were truly special. We ultimately disbanded in 2016 to pursue different paths and careers. And since I was the main songwriter as well as the vocalist for the band I still had a lot of unreleased material lying around. So I decided to release some of it as an instrumental EP in 2023. You'll find four of those songs on my Featured Artist listing. It's deathcore btw.

Then, after we disbanded as a group I branched off to do my own thing for a while. That's when Koemi became my quote unquote solo-project, and I released my first album in 2016. There is one song on the listing that is dear to me and took 6 years for me to finish, it's called Last Breath.

I have my roots in hip hop and rap, producing beats and writing lyrics even before joining my first band, >!albeit not very successfully!<. And back in 2016-2018 I was really into the whole sadboy rap genre, so I made a few songs in that vein and eventually released them under the name countingstars.

As for my most recent project The Promise, The Lie, I'll just leave you with the words from my Bandcamp: Progressive melodic hardcore, written and produced by a single person, translating emotional trauma into a melancholic soundscape.

I hope this short write-up gives you an idea about my history as a musician, what all these different names mean and why my music is all over the place in terms of genre representation, hence the name Inconsequentialist.

Fun fact, I am currently a mentee for osu!mania mapping in the Community Mentorship Program, and this beatmap I've made with The Lie from my FA listing is on its way to get ranked! I've also been playing the game since 2016.

Big shoutouts to my mentor Linlime, as well as Nakano and Dreamy for helping me with all kinds of osu! related stuff, yapping about the game on discord and for mapping my song shadows for the announcement. mieldeprairie also mapped the same song for osu!catch. And of course, huge thanks to the osu!team for giving me this incredible opportunity.

That's all! Please check out the announcement post and all the various songs on my listing. I'm sure you'll be surprised by at least some of them. Oh, and say hi in chat when I'm live on Twitch sometime. :)

Results of the first Ultra Street Fighter IV CPU vs CPU Tournament

Hello everyone! I'm Wizwag and I host weekly CPU vs CPU tournaments for an ever-increasing list of games.

Today, I want to share the results of the first Ultra Street Fighter IV tournament with you.

If you would like to see the tournament play out yourself and return to this post afterwards, I have a spoiler-free playlist on my channel.

WHY CPU TOURNAMENTS?

"I believe it is important to have a form of stress-free entertainment in this stressful and chaotic world. For some it is knitting, for others getting lost in a world far beyond our own in a 1000-page book. And for me, it became watching a cast of flashy characters or an army of units autonomously duke it out while keeping track of match data and making tier lists based on these statistics. Long story short: It is yet another escape from the insanity we all live in, but it's an exciting one, and I am having a blast with it."

TOURNAMENT SUMMARY

The tournament started with the Group Stage: 4 groups with 11 characters each, playing out matches in the Swiss format, all Best of 1. Of course, always on the highest CPU difficulty and random map selection.
