Looking for Some Advice

TLDR: Been in IT for over 20 years, no certs or degree, self taught. Getting degree gated out of positions I want and can't land anything lower because employers accurately view me as a flight risk. (which to be fair I am.) Looking for help with direction or if I should take up goat farming. Tried the network which I haven't been maintaining, no hits. Canada based.

Quick background - been in IT since I was 22 (45 now). Started and the bottom and worked my way up - finished my last job in January as a solo IT manager for a resource company after 10 years; left due to toxic environment and burn out. Recovered over 4 months and have been applying to positions since beginning of May.

Running into a large block in the form of degrees and certs or my lack of them. Didn't have a training budget for much of my career so I'm mostly self taught. I'm looking to get into a strategic advisory position, it's where my interests and skills are currently are (did a bunch of M&A work at the company that helped me solidify what I enjoy) either short term (Project Management) or long term (IT Director).

However, can't land a job; had three job interviews so far, one rejection, one stalled for four months (probably not first choice) and one I declined because the offer was from a company that would put me right back into the same place I left due to burn out.

Just looking for advice or direction from people who might have been there before. I understand the market is terrible but bills still need to be paid.

Edit: Have been looking more into contracts lately as a way to land something temporary.

Creating Techno-Barbarians as CSM - 40mm; looking for some assistance

Tech Barbarians by Eddy González Dávila

Fellow Veterans of the Long War - Looking to bring back primordial chaos with a return to Tech-Barbarism. Long story short I nailed a great theme I think anyways to resurrect tech-barbarians under the CSM banner. I already going hard into the tribalism; accursed cultists as AoS Chosen/Darkoath Marauders (on 25mm bases). Using Savagers for Dark Commune, plan to convert a wolf priest for Dark Apostle but my question today is regarding my Termies.

Want to really invest in making them look larger than life - did some brainstorming with claude and plan on kitbashing eightbound legs and bare arms with terminator torsos, gauntlets and boots to build something similar to the image above (illustrator titled).

Before I commit on this epic journey just wanted to canvas the community - any other barbarian ish kit that looks good on 40mm? I've done searches both myself and with AI but find alot of it is limited to actual knowledge of base sizes within different game systems. If I'm asking in the wrong place let me know.

The Hi-Tech Paradox

Big Sci-Fi fan, love what the game has done so far but just wanted to bring attention to what I call the Sci-Fi Paradox.

Atm, a lot of the high tech energy weapons seem to exist in a sort of in-between conventional weapons in terms of application and upgrades. Plasma weapons are tagged with explosive but don't act like explosives in terms of structures.

As well Cutting Edge and Apollonian are amazing looking armor but have a very poor passive that recently has been buffed but doesn't really do much in terms of playstyle.

Can we get some QoL changes to the Hi-Tech stuff? Would love to see the ability to delay the instant explosion from overcharging into a more delayed response that gives the opportunity to discard the weapon - maybe a better overcharge window as well; stuff like that. Currently all we have is scope and handle changes with the Scythe having the most upgrades (if all energy weapons were done like the Scythe I would have no issues)

Need Mechanicus 2 on the tabletop

first of all the first mechanicus was the original game that drove me into playing the tabletop wargame.

I cannot express the amount of disappointment to see such a discrepancy between the game and the tabletop. I tried my best but ended up migrating over to thousand sons then to CSM where I finally found my home (dark mech).

With the release of Mechanicus 2 and the continuation of the game I am just reminded constantly of it - why can't we have the same customization for the Tech Priests? Seems like we're still an undeveloped faction.
