Vegan buttermilk….with oat milk?
Does this work? I have recipe for bang bang cauliflower and it asks for vegan buttermilk. Normally, I have almond or soy but have recently tried oat milk for my oatmeal so that’s all I have.

I try to increase my cooking skills and make dishes of many cuisines from scratch. One thing I love is a Japanese curry. However, almost any recipe uses the blocks of premade commercial base like S&B. Even restaurants while in Japan. Trust me, I don’t judge shortcuts for home cooks. I use those cubes now too.
So I’ve encountered those boxes of spice blends from Shan foods, even used a couple . I’m curious. I am in the USA. How prevalent is their use amongst Indian/ Pakistani households? Are they mostly used by the diaspora? Are they seen as shameful by Indian grandmothers who want you to do it the old ways?
Any particular boxes you enjoy? I don’t think I’ll be forsaking my spice rack anytime soon. I was just curious
(Apologies - I knew Shan was a Pakistani company, however, I usually encounter it in grocers that would be considered Indo/Pak and thought it was widespread and cross-border. No disrespect intended. I’m just a clueless white guy.)
I’m been rereading much of the old 2e Planescape content and wondered.
I’m in a rut. My brain and heart are running ragged and I don’t have the gumption to trawl the internet to find a recipe, so I turn to you. I have a bunch of carrots and celery (and red onions) that I need to cook up. Protein choices are lentils, maybe some chickpeas. Could someone suggest a recipe with protein that I can cook tonight? I have a ton of spices (I used to live near a Penzey’s), so I can flavor towards several cuisine styles. I might have other ingredients too but I need to hit a grocery store.
Any great ideas?
So, I’ve recently moved to AR to a dang dry county. So I have to drive significantly (well to me) to get beer. So which beers should I be on the lookout for? I’ve tried Love Honey
I’ve tried a few recipes but haven’t found one that is :
If you have a recipe you think can help me, please link
I'm moderately experienced in making Indian style dishes but I'm in a rut. What's a dish you wish more Americans would try? Bonus points if there is a link to a recipe.
I am mostly vegan but not opposed to the occasional meat dish. I have a decent spice collection but I am often eager to try ones that are new to me. I am not opposed to spicy hot although my wife appreciates it when I let off of the heat.
Okay we just moved somewhat near-ish. I'll be coming for groceries and to eat at a restaurant, however, I haven't really explored the city. If I had a craving for Thai food, where would you go?
For sushi?
Any unusual ethnicities of cuisine?
Just moved aaaaannnnddd it’s to a dry county so I have to drive anyways.
Just moved and I am looking
I picked a bottle of pandan liqueur. I have ideas but what would you do with it?
…and to my dismay, it’s a dry county. No, I actually knew ahead of time and it wasn’t a cruel surprise. But in a week or so, I’m going to be visiting Little Rock to sightsee. What are some good liquor stores? bonus points if they like rum.
Great cocktail bars? We are going to Rock Town Distillery
Planning on going to the River Market District the Central High School Museum.
Any quirky restaurants with unusual cuisines? Great catfish? Any place you recommend that we see? We’ll probably hit the zoo and Discovery science museum
Searching this subreddit, I see mention of a couple in Athens and after verifying they still exist, I added to the list ( Baba au Rum and Tiki Bar Athens). Any others that may have popped up?
While I think we are flying into Athens, our destination will be the island of Corfu. Any suggestions for the island, even if it’s not tiki?
I just moved to a dry county in Arkansas. Searching this forum revealed a post from 3years ago, but it seems the only suggestions are one place in Little Rock, Cannibal and Craft, but it seems to be gone.
Do any of you have updated suggestions (besides moving to another state)?
Okay, I’m watching a YouTuber’s build just to see where he goes with his build. It’s possible that I could adapt my character to adopt aspects of his build to my character…..in the future. Because it might be fun and thematic but since my character is already established, I would have to add this second class starting with next level. Are there advantages or disadvantages to picking up a new class later rather than starting out with it?
We accomplished a large goal and were rewarded well and my character is going to try to find magical support to fix some of his perceived shortcomings. Nothing truly rare. We are in a main capital type city but powerful magic isn't just a matter of coin. I'm just hoping to roll against random tables or tickle the DM's fancy.
So what would you suggest for a ranger :
who needs help on Wis saving throws
is a human without darkvision. - I was thinking about trying to find goggles of night vision
My first 5e bard just hit level 6! Out of curiosity, since bards can trade spells upon reaching a higher level, does this apply to the Magical Secrets choices? I'm wary of picking poor choices for our campaign
