home media server with no vpn, finally have to bite on a vpn and need help with selection/configuration.

i have a very basic home media server on windows i've just made for movies and shows for my family. i've never had an issue with piracy with no vpn (yes, stupid for trying i know. just wanted to avoid paying but that seems it's over now). i have the server set up with tailscale and jellyfin, and i made a web app for my phone so i can send torrent magnet links to qbittorrent on my computer away from home so i can download movies when im not at my server computer.

anyways, i got hit with an email from my isp letting me know the bad news of my very illegal copyright infringement (oh nooo...) and im unsure where to go next. what do i need to do to make sure this doesn't happen again? i've never used a vpn in my life and i have no idea how to configure/set it up or if i even can without screwing up my current tailscale - jellyfin set up. any help would be great!

how do i fix this/how do i know if it is a me problem or a seeder problem?

i'm relatively new to diving deep into torrents, so forgive me if i seem a little stupid. my downloads finish eventually. i just leave them over night and they will finish, but those two that were finished, as you can see, were just 1gb and 2gb and they took over 5 hours each to finish. sometimes i stall, sometimes it comes back, but i really only ever will get 50-100kbps, sometimes 500kbps and very very rarely like 1.2 mbps. is this a me problem or a seeder problem?

so many repeated questions, here's a new one: motion compensation/cancellation?

purely for sim racing/sim driving using a motion sim.

do you think/is there already an option for motion compensation or motion cancellation for existing headsets in steamVR?

Regarding Haptic VR Gloves: is it worth the effort?

i'll rip the question quickly: for those of you that have tried haptic VR gloves in the form factor of LucidVR Haptic Gloves, or gloves that have a string or gear mechanism to stop your fingers when coming in contact with a virtual object, do the haptics feel like something you're satisfied with?

i have been considering re-engineering my own version of the LucidVR Haptic Gloves because the steam frame has reignited my excitement for VR tech, but i have been thinking a lot about the actual experience of haptic gloves using this mechanism. since you're not actually grabbing an object, you don't feel it in your palm or the rest of your finger, your fingers are simply being tugged on by a string. does this ruin the immersion effect of the gloves themselves? more importantly, how does it compare to a simple, average VR controller? controllers give you an object in your hand to grab on to, whether it matches the shape of the virtual object or not. is that physical sense alone more important than your fingers following the shape of the virtual object? or is it still immersive because it does feel like you are grabbing an object? i'm very curious about this and would really like to hear some actual firsthand experiences before i continue my dive into this project.

edit: along with the hardware, i would be developing mods for some games i love to play so that i can get that haptic feedback inside of them, as i am aware it is not natively supported and requires mod development.

gtx 1080, ryzen 7 5800x, some b450m, 2133mhz 16gb, debating my next upgrade paths and need some decision help

i've been looking to upgrade my gpu for quite some time after i replaced my cpu. was set on a 3080ti for awhile but just couldn't find one that would fit my budget and i decided to just settle for something less. was thinking maybe a 4060? i have found a few in my range, $300ish hoping to shoot for less. just found a 3070ti for $320 i could maybe get down to $280 but i just dont know what would be a worthwhile upgrade path.

im about to pick up 16gb of 4000mhz ram and upgrade my psu of course, but ive been stuck on a deciding my gpu upgrade for awhile and need some help because there are so many differing opinions!

was trying to add keyless entry to my s13, what's going on with the original door lock mechanism? did i fuck up?

note: the actuator i newly added is not locking it up, i show it in the first couple seconds of the video just to show that the plunger freely slides in the bracket.
