Echo & The Bunnymen have shared “The Light That Surrounds You,” the second track to be taken from their forthcoming album Apples For Isaac.

The song finds Ian McCulloch offering words of hope and redemption, set against a swirl of guitar built for festival fields and wide-open spaces.

Will Sergeant: “I’ve Been Ostracised” | Echo & the Bunnymen & Courtney Love

Hi everyone — thought this might be of interest to fellow Bunnymen fans.

I’ve just uploaded an archive XS Noize Podcast interview with Will Sergeant to YouTube. It was originally released as audio back in March 2025, but this is the first time it has been presented on the channel.

Will talks about Weird as Fish, his memoirs Bunnyman and Echoes, the Liverpool post-punk scene, the later Echo & the Bunnymen albums, his guitar style, working on Courtney Love’s record, and the happy accident behind “The Killing Moon.”

He’s also very candid about his changing creative role within the Bunnymen and why outside projects have become such an important outlet for him.

Would love to know what other fans think — especially your favourite Will guitar moments. https://youtu.be/_7dkfxA4Fo0?si=aZKDIAU9_DBBbUaN

Deb Googe on My Bloody Valentine, Loveless and Why She Left MBV

I spoke with Deb Googe from My Bloody Valentine for the XS Noize Podcast, and this was one of my favourite moments from the interview.

We talked about the way people often describe MBV as a “wall of sound” — but Deb explained it more as something physical, not just loud. She talks about the role of bass, why the band give out earplugs at shows, and how volume changes the way music hits you and moves through your body.

For anyone into MBV, shoegaze, noise, bass, and the physical side of live music, I thought this was a really interesting insight from Deb.

Deb and Cara talk about bringing The Golden Thread to Belfast as part of the Oh Yeah Presents immersive series, where the music becomes visual as well as sonic. They discuss how the collaboration began, how Cara’s piano changed the shape of da Googie, how improvised pieces were reshaped into finished songs, and Deb reflects on the physical force of My Bloody Valentine’s sound.
