"we're actively working to get you a new delivery date" past the rescheduled date. Rescheduled again and it looks like it's going to do the same. Any tips?

It's from eBay, so they apparently, intentionally won't let you setup a pick-up in store option. I'm honestly stumped.

Downy Woodpeckers in Roy G park! (bonus video in the comments)

These guys are the smallest woodpeckers in North America! And I love them very much for that.
Boys have a red tuft on the head, and girls don't.

I got very lucky on the weekend before the weather got violent. I've never seen one so close!

Do you guys wanna go on a bird walk for SUPER BEGINNERS? Join us here!😁

You've heard of Flycatchers before but, have you heard about (Blue-grey) Gnatcatchers!?

These guys are almost everywhere out here in Austin, but they're so tiny (~4in, 6 g), that you might not notice them!

To me, they sound like miniature hawks when they sing, so that's your fun fact of the day. Maybe you'll hear next time you're out by the trees!

***By the way, a fellow redditor reached out and we are gonna get some folks together at the end of the month to go on a walk, let us know if you want to join!***

The red ones are boys and the lighter/orange colored ones are girls.
They make all kinds of sounds/vocalizations, but they are some of the most common ones that you might hear throughout the year. (Only outnumbered by grackles haha)
They can sound like a car alarm or one of those star wars' blaster.

As a photographer, and there are so many things I see with my own eyes that I know my camera cannot simply capture on its own. Meaning..placing it in P mode. That’s the part that often gets overlooked by some. When photographers look at a final image, they tend to assume what the light looked like based on that finished frame, and they’re not thinking about what everything actually looked like before the shutter was pressed.

What they’re seeing is the result, not the process. They’re not considering that there could have been deep shade in certain areas, or uneven light across the scene, or parts of the image that would have completely fallen apart without intervention. Instead, they look at the final image and mentally reconstruct a version of the scene that feels believable, without realizing that what they’re imagining and what actually existed can be two very different things.

That’s where intention comes in. The goal isn’t always to make the flash obvious or dramatic. Sometimes the goal is to blend it so well into the scene that it feels like nothing was added at all, even though the final image could not have existed without it. When everything is balanced properly, the result feels natural, but that doesn’t mean it was captured naturally. So be on the lookout tomorrow for my latest course on natural-looking flash, where I break down how to not only create that light, but marry it with intention and show how the final image(s) you’re looking at is often built, not simply captured.

If you have heard a super loud "KEEEE", it might be one of these guys.
Apparently they mimic hawks to trick other animals/ sound scary. So cool!
