So I got an offer from a leading oil and gas company for the role of CAD and Data Analyst. I am a mechanical Engineer by background, wanted to know the growth in this role.
Hi everyone,
I'll be working near Kharadi/Yerwada and am looking for a place to stay.
My priorities are:
Single room
Soft water (hard water was a major issue in my previous stays because you know why)
Affordable food options nearby (college/student-type areas are a plus)
Reasonable rent for a working professional
I previously lived in Bibwewadi and liked it because food was cheap and easily available, and overall living costs felt manageable.
Which areas would you recommend that offer a similar experience?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently interviewing for a CAD Engineer position with a major global petroleum and energy conglomerate through a vendor contract company and have completed the following rounds:
Initial communication/screening round
Communication + technical round
Technical round (approximately 20% technical questions and 80% situational/behavioral questions)
I've now been informed that there will be a 4th and final round.
For those who have gone through similar hiring processes in large oil & gas or energy companies (especially for contractor/vendor positions), what does the final round typically involve?
when osho said "Stop begging there's nobody above the clouds to answer your prayers. Instead, look within yourself, deep within yourself" what did he mean?
26M Mechanical Engineer from India, worked 2 jobs in design and project. Recently pursued post graduate diploma in piping engineering but market has been pretty down lately due to war. I have total 3 years of work ex, any advice on what to do?
26M here so I'm an mechanical Engineer graduated in 2022 worked 2 jobs in 3 years both were small size firms with lower salaries so thought I'll upskill, did a post graduate course but now because of war hiring have been pretty slow and here I am without job or jobs that give petty salaries back to square one.
sometimes I feel I'm not meant for happiness my mom passed away at 18, my girlfriend broke up with me and got married to someone, I couldn't get a good well settling job even though I tried my best in everything. I'm at a point now I don't know what to do.
So I'm in a bit of a situation and need some experienced advice.
A little background: I'm a 26M Mechanical Engineer and recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Piping Engineering. Right now, I have two offer letters in hand:
Offer 1:
From an Indian MNC IT company for their client — a petroleum MNC. It’s a contract role, but both companies are well known. The role is Design-related (not core piping like layout, stress, or material). They mentioned P&ID and isometrics work. Package: 6 LPA
Offer 2:
From a consultancy for SP3D layout work. Package: 2.5–3 LPA
Considering my age, career growth, and current market conditions, which one would you choose and why?
So I'm in a bit of a situation and need some experienced advice.

I’m in my mid 20s and feel like everyone around me is moving ahead while I’m starting over. My friends have stable jobs, relationships, and are talking about marriage, while I moved to another city for post graduation/upskilling after a few years of work experience.
Now companies are offering low salaries because I don’t have “relevant experience” in this new field, and it’s stressing me out badly. I also feel very lonely socially and personally. Lost my mother when I was young, my past relationship ended, and sometimes it feels like life only keeps getting harder instead of better.
Has anyone else felt completely behind in life during a career transition? Did things eventually improve?
