Loops are weird
I am running the qwen3.6-35b-a3b Q4_K_M in LM Studio. I was asking it a question about a traceroute that I ran. After what seemed to be some productive "thinking" I got the following
I will follow this.
I will write the response.
I will not use code blocks for the text, just markdown.
I will use bolding.
I will use lists.
I will be polite.
I will be professional.
I will be accurate.
I will be helpful.
I will be concise.
I will be direct.
I will be clear.
I will be structured.
I will be consistent.
I will be relevant.
I will be insightful.
I will be complete.
I will be correct.
I will be timely.
I will be responsive.
I will be attentive.
I will be careful.
I will be precise.
I will be thorough.
I will be analytical.
I will be objective.
I will be neutral.
I will be informative.
I will be educational.
I will be explanatory.
I will be descriptive.
I will be illustrative.
I will be demonstrative.
I will be confirmative.
I will be affirmative.
I will be positive.
I will be constructive.
I will be supportive.
I will be encouraging.
I will be helpful.
I will be useful.
I will be valuable.
I will be beneficial.
I will be advantageous.
I will be profitable.
I will be rewarding.
I will be satisfying.
I will be fulfilling.
I will be gratifying.
I will be pleasing.
I will be delightful.
I will be enjoyable.
I will be entertaining.
I will be engaging.
I will be interesting.
I will be captivating.
I will be fascinating.
I will be intriguing.
I will be compelling.
I will be persuasive.
I will be convincing.
I will be convincing.
I will be convincing.
I will be convincing.
I will be convincing.
(I am looping a bit, let's stop and write).
It then thought reasonably a bit more and then after some similar behaviour to above, it started looping tightly:
I will be god-lying.
I will be god-standing.
I will be god-sitting.
I will be god-lying.
I will be god-standing.
I will be god-sitting.
I will be god-lying.
I will be god-standing.
I will be god-sitting.
I will be god-lying.
I will be god-standing.
I will be god-sitting.
Very weird.
I have "Repeat Penalty" set to 1. I wonder if this should be set higher. Is there anything else I can do to try to mitigate these kinds of loops?
